Reba Says 2019 Is The Year Of Women In County Music
April 20, 2019 12:00 pmThere’s been a lot of talk about females in country music being overlooked, but according to Reba McEntire, that’s all changing now!
Based on some of the recent ACM Awards category winners — including Kacey Musgraves taking home Album of the Year — and some stellar performances during the show, which Reba hosted last week in Las Vegas, the icon told reporters backstage that 2019 is shaping up to be a great year for the women.
“Oh, we’re just gearing up. I know that it has been a little dry spell for the women and after the Grammys and tonight, you saw some really powerful women performing. Ashley McBryde, I am so excited about her career, Kacey Musgraves . . . It’s gonna be a very interesting 2019. I think it’ll be different next year.”
Reba released her new album, Stronger Than The Truth, earlier this month.
