Midland On Opening For Garth Brooks
June 24, 2019 8:30 amOf all the things Midland has gotten to do as a band, perhaps the highlight thus far has been opening for Garth Brooks on his current Stadium Tour. Midland member Jess Carson explains:
“We’ve done one show with Garth so far in Pittsburgh. It was the largest ticketed event in the history of Pittsburgh as a city, 75,000 people, Heinz Field. It was absolutely insane. The show actually got delayed about an hour and a half because of a thunderstorm. So, when we went on, it was like for the full 75,000 people. So, it was nuts, and Garth is just so gracious. And one of the coolest parts of the whole thing for me was he was sound checking, and then we were waiting to soundcheck and he was like comin’ up on stage. So I’m standing like next to him, and he’s playing ‘The River’ and ‘Thunder Rolls’. He’s like going through all these songs. You know, I’m just like standing right next to him. It’s crazy.”
Midland just announced their Let It Roll Tour, which will support their brand new album of the same name coming out on August 23rd. The project features their latest single, “Mr. Lonely.”
