Dan + Shay On The Evolution “All By Myself”
July 25, 2019 5:30 amDan + Shay’s latest hit, “All To Myself,” is a far cry from the song the duo co-wrote with Jordan Reynolds and Nicolle Galyon, the same two with whom they co-wrote their crossover hit “Tequila.”
Shay Mooney said the version on the album and on the radio is quite different thanks to Dan Smyers’ production.
“The version that we demoed out was actually much different than the record version. I remember being in Mexico and Dan was talking to me about the production of ‘All To Myself’ and how he was imagining this new production on it and he was playing it on acoustic and saying, ‘I kind of want this to be how it is.’ If you heard the demo it was just so different. I was like, ‘Man, I hope that’s cool. I don’t know. You’re the one that has such a great imagination on that stuff,’ so he put that together and just crushed it and really completely changed the song for me. It just completely changed everything.”
“All To Myself” is the third single from Dan + Shay’s self-titled album which was released just one year ago.
