FGL’s Creative Process

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line met and forged their friendship while students at Nashville’s Belmont University where they were both pursuing degrees in Music Business. Their time at Belmont certainly put them on the path to a successful music career, but as Tyler says, there was really no plan for putting his degree to work. [“Naw, not really. I mean, I think we both knew we wanted to be songwriters and kind of had a one-track mind at that age. At times I think it’d be fun to be some sort of designer or architect. Actually, about every year I think of another hobby that could turn into a career, that if this music thing weren’t our life what we’d be doing, but I think that’s just part of being creative and really enjoying the creative process.”]

Besides their music, Florida Georgia Line’s Brian and Tyler have branched out to co-own the FGL House bar/restaurant in Nashville, Old Camp Whiskey, and most recently, their own record label, Round Here Records, among other things.

  • They’ll perform at their headlining FGL Fest at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 7th.
