Florida Georgia Line Talk Songwriting
October 9, 2019 3:00 pmTyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line are as known for their stellar songwriting these days as they are for being a hit-making duo.
When it comes to writing the best songs, Brian said he picked up some valuable advice while attending college at Belmont University.
It came from a Country Music Hall of Famer who has written dozens of hits, including “The Gambler,” “Forever and Ever Amen” and “When You Say Nothing at All.”
“Best songwriting advice I ever got at Belmont was from Don Schlitz and he said there’s a conversation in every song, all you have to do is listen. (Tyler) Or there’s a song in every conversation, you just have to listen. (Brian) Either way. (Tyler) That’s why we’re a duo. (Brian) Exactly.”
FGL co-wrote their brand new single, “Blessings,” the third single from their Can’t Say I Ain’t Country album.
