Luke Combs Blown Away By Praise From Garth Brooks
November 16, 2019 7:00 amLuke Combs got a shout out from Garth Brooks when he accepted his seventh win for Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 13th, and for Luke, it was the stuff of dreams.
Garth commented that Entertainer of the Year is in Luke’s future, and he told reporters backstage that the “Even Though I’m Leaving” singer will probably best his own record and pick up eight Entertainer trophies, calling him a “natural.”
Luke told reporters the whole thing was surreal.
“You know, I grew up listening to Garth. I know every song by heart and for him to say something like that is pretty unreal and the pressure’s on, I feel like, for sure (laughs).”
Luke walked away with Male Vocalist and Song of the Year for “Beautiful Crazy” wins at the CMA Awards, where he also performed his chart-topping hit “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”
