Alan Jackson Plays Drive-In Shows
June 17, 2020 10:00 amAlan Jackson’s “Small Town Drive-in” concerts over the past weekend in Cullman and Fairhope, AL drew more than 2,000 vehicles full of fans to each show.
The shows drew people from nearby towns to cities as far away as Atlanta, Nashville, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Texas.
Before Friday’s inaugural event in Cullman, Alan and his wife, Denise, jumped in the bed of a red Chevy pickup and drove up and down the aisles of vehicles, waving to cheering fans.
Alan told the crowd,
“I love cars. We’re just glad to get out of the house and have a good time with y’all.”
The concerts followed current health guidelines, with vehicles parked several feet apart and patrons were asked to stay with their cars, enjoying the concerts from the hood, the roof or the tailgate.
