Morgan Wallen’s upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live has been cancelled due to his very public maskless partying over the weekend with the threat of spreading COVID 19.

His multiple activities made him a trending topic on Twitter and TikTok and was reported by Variety, the Washington Post and other national outlets.

Videos of him kissing several women on the mouth ended up on People.com.

A number of photos and videos of him without a mask popped up online – of him at multiple locations over the weekend, including a photo he posted to his own Instagram account on Saturday.

Morgan shared the news of his removal from the show in an emotional video that he posted on Instagram.

He explained that although he has not tested positive for COVID-19, he was asked not to come to set because of COVID protocols.

“My actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams. I respect the show’s decision, because I know that I put them in jeopardy, and I take ownership for this. It may be a second before you hear from me for a while, but, uh, I’m gonna go work on me, and I appreciate y’all respecting that, and I’ll talk to you soon. I love you.”

He sent the video from a New York hotel room.
