Jimmie Allen Has Advice For New Artists
February 17, 2021 7:00 pmJimmie Allen was recently talking about how the music business is changing.
Back in the day an artist would record an album, go on tour to promote it, and then head back into the studio and repeat the process.
It’s a blueprint that some people still follow, but he’s convinced it’s on the way out.
“I’m not a fan of album cycles where you put out 12, 13 songs and you wait a year-and-a-half then put out music again. Listeners don’t want that, they want music now, cause if you’re not giving it to them, they’ll go to somebody that is. Artists that can consistently put out music versus artists that are still on that old school album cycle . . . it’s done, it’s dated, let it go.”
He says it’s especially true for artists that are trying to get a career up and running.
