Barbara Mandrell Teams Up With Opry For Merchandise Line
August 29, 2021 7:00 amBarbara Mandrell has teamed up with the Grand Ole Opry to launch an exclusive merchandise line in celebration of her signature hit “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool.”
The collection is available online at store.opry.com and in the Opry gift shop and includes “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool” branded t-shirts, Hatch poster, coffee mug and more.
“The Opry has always felt like a second home to me. My love for that historic stage is why I chose it as the location for my final performance. I simply had to step in the circle one last time. I am blessed to have recorded this song, honored that country fans are still listening to it and thrilled to celebrate 40 years of ‘being country, when country wasn’t cool’ with the Grand Ole Opry.”
Barbara released “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool” in April of 1981 as the lead single from her Barbara Mandrell Live album. The song hit Number One on July 4, 1981.
