Clare Dunn Assaulted By A Lyft Driver In Nashville

In an interview with People magazine, singer/songwriter Clare Dunn revealed that she was physically assaulted by a Nashville Lyft driver on June 26th.

She reported it to the police and there’s a warrant out for the guy’s arrest.

She was in Nashville to do some songwriting when she went out with friends and shared a Lyft home with ONE of them.

The driver dropped her friend off first, but wouldn’t follow Clare’s directions to her place.

“[I] was like, ‘That was my turn. Where are you going?’ He was screaming at me.” She didn’t let up on the guy, so he decided to pull the car over about a mile from her house. And that’s when it got real bad. Before I could even get my phone to try and call 911, he grabbed me by the collar, ripped me out of the backseat and slammed me face-first down into a ditch.”

She had bruises on her face and was bleeding, so she went to the emergency room, and she filed a police report and a detective helped her identify the driver.

But she’s speaking out because she wants to share the lessons she learned.

She says you should always take a screenshot of the driver’s information from the rideshare app, and, take a photo of their license plate BEFORE getting into the car, because the driver’s info goes away after the ride is completed.

Clare’s back home in Colorado but the nightmare is still with her.

“I wake up a couple of times throughout the night thinking I heard something . . . like someone’s at my back door.”

Lyft put out a statement saying they’ve “permanently removed the driver from their platform.” They also reached out to Clare to offer support and are assisting the police with the investigation.
