Randy Houser Doesn’t Need To Be “The Popular Kid On The Block”

The phrase “stay in your lane” could be used to define Randy Houser, and the person saying that phrase would be Randy.

In a recent interview with People, he talked about how he knows who he is and is okay with it.

“This is what I do. It’s feast or famine, and it’s always been that way. It doesn’t scare me to NOT be the popular kid on the block. I just go and do my thing. I want to make music that I love and that is true to me.” And if his audience drifts away for a while, that’s okay, because he’s not going anywhere. I’m always going to pop my head back up. My 15 minutes are going to be every few years. I call it my recovery time. Don’t look for me to ever go away.”

Randy’s next “music that he loves” is an album coming out in November called, “Note to Self”.

He said it’s “a country record at its core” with a heavy dose of pedal steel.

“I’m not reaching for anything on this. Just making the music I grew up on.”
