Nashville City Council Denies Morgan Wallen’s Bar Sign
May 23, 2024 8:45 amMorgan Wallen’s bar in downtown Nashville is set to open this weekend.
Unfortunately, the last time Morgan was drinking down there he threw a chair off a bar roof and nearly hit two police officers.
His bar is still opening on schedule, but there was one small snag.
The owners had wanted to put up a 20-foot neon sign with Morgan’s name on it, but that plan was just overwhelmingly defeated by the Nashville City Council on a vote of 30-3.

Council member Delishia Porterfield said,
“I don’t want to see a billboard with the name of a person who’s throwing chairs off of balconies and who’s saying racial slurs.”
To be fair, there is already a sign on the building, and this would have been a second, larger sign.

Morgan currently has the #1 song on the Billboard 100 for “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone.
