Kenny Chesney Gets Real During Induction Speech
October 22, 2025 6:57 amKenny Chesney, June Carter Cash, and Tony Brown were all officially inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
During Kenny’s speech, he brought up a conversation he had with Megan Moroney after a concert.
She asked him if he ever let himself feel accomplished, and Kenny said that until that night, he really hadn’t, but once he saw himself surrounded by all of his heroes in the Country Hall’s rotunda, he finally felt a sense of accomplishment.
And then he closed his speech out with a bit of wisdom from his early touring days with Alabama.
One time, Kenny was complaining about being tired, so Teddy Gentry told him, “Wait until you’ve been out here 42 years . . . then you can be tired.” Kenny laughed and said, “He was right.”
