Luke Combs Drafts His All-Country Football Team
October 24, 2025 5:10 amLuke Combs continues to give one of the best interviews in all of country music.
He talked with ESPN’s Katie Feeney for a hilarious segment where he built his all-country music football team.
She told him the names of some country stars, and he had to decide what position they would play.

Here’s Luke’s lineup:
- Morgan Wallen. . . middle linebacker.
- Bailey Zimmerman. . . safety. This is a great position for Bailey because the guy never stops moving.
- Luke Bryan. . . Luke said he would be the “locker room guy or the glue guy”. Every team needs one. Great vibes, not so much playing time.
- Megan Moroney. . . running back.
- Lainey Wilson. . . quarterback. It’s true, Lainey’s a natural leader.
- Jelly Roll. . . this was probably the best answer of them all. He said Jelly was a “former offensive lineman”. And now he’s a slot receiver. Which is one of the fastest players on offense, known for making plays.
- Kelsea Ballerini. . . defensive back.
- Riley Green. . . Luke confidently said “water boy” . . . even though Riley was a former division one quarterback.
And when asked where Luke would place himself on the team he said, “Probably not playing. I would be riding the bench.”
