Jon Pardi Sang Drinking Songs In Front Of A BYU Crowd
December 8, 2025 5:22 amJon Pardi brought some unintentional comedy to the Big 12 Championship halftime show.
The game was Texas Tech versus BYU, and BYU fans, who are mostly Mormon, definitely weren’t the crowd for a string of drinking songs.
Two of the songs he chose are pro-booze: “Heartache Medication” and “Dirt on My Boots”.
But then he played “Head Over Boots” for all the lovers out there.
Here are some lyrics from “Heartache Medication”: “Bartender knows my name, but I don’t mind . . . She kicks ’em up strong, serves me up right . . . And here I go again, I’m drinkin’ one, I’m drinkin’ two.”
But who knows, maybe he was just playing more for the Texas Tech crowd.
Although the irony of blasting bar anthems to a mostly alcohol-free fan base, was not lost on the rest of us.
