Wrong Number Friendship
December 6, 2021 5:07 amMore than two decades ago, a woman in her late 50s named Gladys Hankerson tried to call her sister in Maryland, but dialed the wrong number.
She got a random guy in Rhode Island named Mike Moffitt, who was in his mid-20s at the time. So she apologized and hung up, but then kept calling him back. So they got to talking.
Now over 20 years later, she’s 80 . . . he’s in his mid-40s . . . and they STILL keep in touch. She says he’s a “very nice person,” and she loves him to death.
And last month, they got to meet in person for the first time. He was on his way to Florida for Thanksgiving, and stopped by to see her.
