91-year-old Can Finally Retire

After seven decades of work, a 91-year-old supermarket worker in Oregon is finally able to retire.

Betty Glover, with the help of her granddaughter, set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise the money that will allow her to finally stop working.

She launched the online money-raising effort a couple of weeks ago in hopes of paying off the fifth-wheel trailer she calls home.

At last check she had raised over $70,000, far surpassing her goal of $40,000.

Betty said she has retirement savings, but uses it to pay her monthly bills, medications and groceries, and wasn’t able to make enough money to pay off her residence.

She has worked as a cashier at a grocery store for 10 years, but she realizes it’s time to focus on other things.

Betty is looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her one great-great-grandchild.
