Caffeine is a basic food group to many — even high school students. But in South Korea, coffee has just been banned from schools. Even for teachers. A new law goes into effect on September 14th, banning coffee from all schools in an effort to keep students from consuming too much caffeine. 19% of high school students there say that they drink at least one cup of coffee per day, and more than half say they drink some form of caffeinated drink to wake up, despite being aware of the danger of consuming too much caffeine. Other drinks with high caffeine levels, such as energy drinks, are already banned in Korean schools. Critics point out that students can easily walk a few minutes from their schools to buy coffee or other caffeinated drinks.

For some, the most wonderful time of the year is almost here: Pumpkin Spice season. And if you are one of those people who want pumpkin spice in everything …here is some good news: The spices that are mixed together to make pumpkin spice each have their own health benefits. The flavor is generally made up of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice. Cinnamon is thought to help control blood sugar levels, nutmeg has been used to treat many illnesses. Ginger seems to be an effective treatment for nausea and morning sickness. Cloves are commonly used to treat toothaches, and allspice is a treatment for things like intestinal gas, diarrhea, flu and colds. And let’s not forget pumpkin. Pumpkin isn’t actually an ingredient in ALL pumpkin spice products, but if it is used, you’re in luck. Pumpkin is high in vitamin A, which is good for your eyes, skin, and fighting infections.

ENTERTAINMENT
What to put in a photo frame has long plagued store owners. Should they be filled with smiling stock photos? Intriguing black and white snaps from a different time? Perhaps simply left empty?
Well, wonder no more. A charity shop in the UK has come up with this definitive solution: Someone put a picture of Jeff Goldblum in all of the picture frames.
TODAY IS……………….

FOOTBALL :
2003 [15] Rockford College Regents beat Trinity Bible College Lions 105-0, setting a new NCAA Division III football scoring record
⇒ Florida Atlantic University’s FAU Owls suffered a humbling 63-14 loss to Oklahoma on Sunday, a loss that coach Lane Kiffin called “embarrassing”, but it was what happened after the game that really took the cake. Florida Atlantic’s Alumni Association sent a mass text to all of their contacts proclaiming the Owls the victors. The text read: “FAU just beat #7 ranked OU on their home field. Let’s celebrate by helping more athletes.” That was followed by a link to an FAU web page that read in part: “FAU Beats Oklahoma! Winning in Paradise”
⇒ A California football team has decided to forfeit the rest of the season after starting the year with two humiliating losses. Healdsburg High School held a players’ vote that ultimately led to the team disbanding. The vote came on the heels of two lopsided losses in which Healdsburg was clobbered 41-0 by Drake in the season opener and 61-0 by Justin-Siena last week. At the start of the season, just 18 players were on the roster, and after the two losses, five players called it quits before the vote was taken.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
This happened about ten months ago, but it’s just making headlines. Last October, a 56-year-old guy in Santa Cruz, California named Max Montgomery started dating a 45-year-old woman named Andi Traynor.
And for their first date, they decided to go surfing. Which might be the most “California” thing I’ve ever heard.
Anyway, in the middle of their surfing date, Max had a HEART ATTACK and collapsed on the beach. But luckily, Andi happens to be a DOCTOR. So she immediately started doing CPR and saved his LIFE.
Paramedics showed up a few minutes later and shocked his heart back into rhythm. And a wildlife photographer happened to have a camera set up that got it all on video.
Max had bypass surgery the next day. And now almost a year later, they’re still together and say they’re madly in LOVE. They joke that Andi giving him mouth-to-mouth was technically their first kiss.
They also recently started a charity together called Help A Heart that provides CPR dummies, so more people can get CPR certified.

MOST OFFICE WORKERS PREFER TO EAT AT THEIR DESKS
According to a new study, office workers prefer to eat lunch at their desks.
The reasons were found to be that there wasn’t enough time to eat elsewhere and that there’s too much work to be done.
Researchers also discovered that 68% of office employees snack two times per day and that 44% keep a ‘snack drawer’ in their desk. One expert says “with the average lunch ‘hour’ now likely to be 30 minutes or less, workers are now snacking at least twice a day, not surprisingly between breakfast and lunch, and then when hunger strikes again between 2 and 3 PM.”

Carly Pearce Broke Up with Some Guy to Get with Michael Ray
We knew that CARLY PEARCE had it BAD for MICHAEL RAY before they even started dating, but this takes it up a notch. She was so drawn to him that she HAD to break up with the guy she was dating.
She talked about it in a podcast. She kind of knew Michael, but the feelings came on real strong when they were performing at a radio event. Her people promised to find out if he was single, and she was all-in at that point.
Quote, “I’m like, ‘Okay. I’m not single, but okay.’ I remember I was dating somebody at the time, and I was like, ‘I have to break this off, because even if it’s not Michael Ray, I shouldn’t feel this way about somebody else.’ So I did.”
CAM POSTPONES U.S. TOUR DATES AMID LABEL CHANGE – (09/04/2018)
Unfortunately for Cam fans, the singer has postponed her U.S. fall tour. Cam shared a message on social media over the weekend informing fans that she is in the process of changing record labels and it will affect the U.S. dates on her upcoming tour. She wrote, in part, that “for reasons I can’t get into here,” she’s switching from Sony Music Nashville to RCA New York, a move that she says will allow her to release her music and tour with “a clear conscience and happy heart.”
She later added that fans need not worry about the direction of her music going forward. Cam tweeted, “For the record- same music, better situation. Country music can’t get rid of me that easy.”
Cam will still play her scheduled European dates as well as her show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 26th.
