“Halloween” made another $32 million to win the box office for the second weekend. “A Star Is Born” was the runner-up, earning another $14.1 million.
The action flick “Hunter Killer” was the only new movie to debut in the Top 10. It made $6.7 million, and came in fifth.
There’s only one candy corn debate I know about: Is candy corn gross . . . or really gross? But now, there’s a new one: Which end of candy corn is the TOP? Is it the fat yellow part . . . or the narrow white part?
I’d go with the yellow part, since if it were a real corn kernel, I’d consider that the top.
But I can see the argument for the other way, too: It’s not real corn, it’s a candy triangle, and in a triangle, the narrow point is the top.

- “International Cat Day
- “Oatmeal Day”
- “International Internet Day”, Since 2005, International Internet Day has been celebrated to commemorate a momentous day in the history of telecommunications and technology, which to many, signifies the creation of the internet. On this date in 1969, the first electronic message was transferred from one computer to another. The letters ‘L’ and ‘O’ were transferred before the connection crashed.

RANDOM REPORT
- Two countries in the world have flags with guns on them: Mozambique and Guatemala.
- Hummer sales dropped 95% from 2006 to 2010.
- School buses are yellow because you pick up that color in your peripheral vision at least 1.24 times faster than any other color. You pick up red the second fastest.
- Haagen-Dazs was started by a couple in the Bronx . . . they made up the name using nonsense words that sounded foreign. But they sued ANOTHER ice cream company called Frusen Gladje in 1980 for using a foreign-sounding name.
Except “frusen gladje” actually means “frozen delight” in Swedish. So Haagen-Dazs lost.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
A couple named Caleb and Olivia Spark got married near Buffalo, New York earlier this month.
And while they were taking photos in a park, a five-year-old girl with autism walked by with her mom . . . saw Olivia in her dress . . . and ran up to her, because she thought she was CINDERELLA.
The girl’s name is Layla Lester. Her mom says she doesn’t usually feel comfortable around people she doesn’t know, but she LOVES princesses. And Olivia was really sweet to her.
They talked for a while, and Olivia played the part of Cinderella. She says SHE was thrilled someone really thought she looked like a princess on her wedding day.
Anyway, the wedding photographer got a few shots of them, and a video. But no one got Layla’s mom’s name. So Olivia and her family posted a photo online, hoping she’d see it. Which she did . . . and the photo also went viral.
Which brings us to the best part. Someone who saw the story started a GO FUND ME page to send Layla to Disney World, so she can meet more Disney princesses.
And it’s already raised over $11,000.

Today Is National Cat Day . . . Here Are Five Stats in Honor of the Holiday
- 44% of people say they have a cat. And of those people, around three out of five only have one cat.
- 14% of people say they’re a “cat person.” 46% are a “dog person.” 35% love both equally . . . and the other 5% say they don’t like animals.
- Just under half of cat owners say “I love you” to their cats.
- 25% say their cat is their best friend.
- And finally, women are almost three times more likely than men to say they understand what their cat is trying to say when it meows. But men are twice as likely as women to say they’ve trained their cat to use the toilet instead of a litter box.

Yes, Being Hugged Does Make Us Feel Better
If you’re having a bad day, try asking for a hug. According to a new study, it really DOES make us feel better. And not just for a few seconds . . .
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh tracked 400 men and women for two weeks, and talked to them every night about how their day went.
They asked about things like social activities . . . conflicts they’d had . . . resolutions to those conflicts . . . and whether they’d HUGGED anyone that day.
And they found that when people received at least one hug on the same day something bad happened, they were less likely to DWELL on that one bad moment.
In other words, being hugged helped prevent one bad thing from ruining someone’s entire day.
And the effect even carried over into the NEXT day.
They didn’t ask people WHO they hugged. But obviously not all hugs are created equal. And hugging a random person probably won’t have the same effect as hugging your significant other, or your kids.
MONDAY OCTOBER 29TH
TODAY’S BIRTHDAYS
[71] Richard Dreyfuss, actor (“Jaws”, “Mr Holland’s Opus”)
[47] Winona Ryder, actress (“Beetlejuice”, “Edward Scissorhands”)
- The Boston Red Sox finished off the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game Five last night to win the World Series, four games to one. It’s Boston’s FOURTH World Series title in 15 years.
The final score was 5-1, and as it turned out, the Red Sox only needed the first inning, two-run home run by STEVE PEARCE, who hit another homer later in the game. He also hit the game-tying home run in Game Four on Saturday.
He had SEVEN RBIs over the past two games, and he was named the World Series MVP after the game, which is pretty amazing, because he didn’t even start the year with Boston. The Toronto Blue Jays traded him to the Red Sox in June.
Pearce is 35 years old, and he’s mostly been a journeyman. In fact, he’s now played for all five teams in the American League East. Overall, he’s been with seven different teams, plus three different stints with the Baltimore Orioles.
- “Halloween”won the box office for a second week by making another $32 million. And “A Star is Born” made $14.1 million to remain in second place. The only new movie to make the Top 10 was “Hunter Killer”, which came in fifth.
- Today is National Cat Day. And according to a new survey, 44% of people say they have a cat . . . just under half of them say “I love you” to their cats . . . and 25% say their cat is their best friend.
- We were tricked, people. That was a JUSTIN BIEBERIMPERSONATOR eating that burrito sideways. Some guys on YouTube were just trying to create a viral sensation . . . and they obviously succeeded.

JUSTIN MOORE IS OVER ‘RIDICULOUS’ HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS – (10/25/2018)
Justin Moore has made no secret of his hatred for Halloween, dating back to his childhood. Obviously, now that he’s a father of four kids ranging in age from 8 to 16 months, skipping Halloween is not an option. And it’s not just his kids. His wife is a big fan, too.
