Flooding In Venice

Three-quarters of Venice was under water yesterday (October 29th) as the city was flooded by an exceptionally high tide while large parts of Italy were dealing with flooding and heavy winds.

Strong winds raised the water level more than five feet in Venice before receding, topping even the raised walkways that are normally put out in flooded areas in Venice.

The peak level was the highest reached in the Italian city since December 2008.
