There’s a 36-year-old woman named Shaurice Jones from Bath, Pennsylvania.  And last week, her 12-year-old son had a dentist appointment . . . and he did NOT want to go.

And he was SO against going that he climbed onto the hood of his mom’s car.

So . . . she started driving anyway.  But instead of going to the dentist, she drove two miles to the police station on streets where the speed limit was 40 . . . apparently because she hoped they would help her convince her son to go to the dentist.

But when she got there, the cops WEREN’T interested in helping with the dentist argument . . . and they WERE interested in Shaurice driving two miles with her son on the hood of her car.

She was arrested and charged with child endangerment and reckless endangerment.

ENTERTAINMENT

Danny DeVito has responded to the news that a group of college students has created a bizarre bathroom shrine devoted to him.  Hidden in a secret room, accessed through a bathroom at New York’s Purchase College is a weird shrine devoted to him.  After students began sharing photos and videos on social media, it went viral, and DeVito responded with typical humor, tweeting, “My heart is filled with love and garbage,” and he encouraged the students to “be kind to each other” and asked that they “pick up trash, recycle, and be aware of plastics in the ocean.”

At an award show Monday, HUGH JACKMAN paid tribute to his wife Deborra-lee Furness . . . saying, quote, “You’ve loved me with a passion and a depth that I didn’t even know existed, and I don’t think I felt that I deserved . . . I share this with you.  I love you.”

Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods Just Made a $200,000 Side Bet

Back when TIGER WOODS and PHIL MICKELSON announced their $9 million showdown, they said they’d also be making SIDE BETS throughout the match . . . and that money would be donated to charity.

Well, they just made their first one.

At a press conference yesterday, Phil guaranteed he’d birdie the first hole and offered to bet $100,000 on it.  Tiger responded by saying “double it,” so now $200K will be on the line when they tee it up on the first hole.

The $9 million purse isn’t coming out of the golfers’ pockets, and someone asked if it would be better if it was.  Phil noted that they would be wagering “6 to 7 figures” worth of side action, so they ARE putting a lot of their own money out there.

The match is happening this Friday.  It’ll be available on pay per view for $19.99.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

For a high school volleyball team, making the state semifinals would normally be a big deal.

But for the girls’ team at Paradise Adventist Academy in Northern California, this year was different. Some of the players had lost everything in the wildfires — including their volleyball jerseys — and their match against Forest Lake Christian School suddenly felt less important.

When their coach surveyed the players and their families about the November 10 semifinal game, the response was unanimous: They wanted to play but many of the players no longer had proper jerseys or equipment. Some were planning to play in T-shirts with makeshift jersey numbers written on them with Sharpies.

So when they arrived at Forest Lake Christian, they got a big surprise: An array of brand-new Paradise jerseys, along with kneepads, food and thousands of dollars in donations.

When he learned that Paradise would still be coming to play, Forest Lake Christian Athletic Director LaRon Gordon wasted no time. He set up a meeting with school administrators to see what they could do to help.

“The whole front of the school was jam-packed full of donations,” he said. “You couldn’t even walk into the school from the front. You can’t imagine it.”

The night before the game, Gordon had another idea. He called a close friend and located a company that agreed to work overnight to make jerseys for the Paradise team.

Paradise lost. But their night wasn’t over.

“At the end of the match they handed every girl on the team an envelope of $300 worth of gift cards for places for them to buy clothes,” their coach said. “And they presented me with a box of gift cards and cash with over $10,000 for the families at the school.”

WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?   His Taste in Music Could Be a Dealbreaker

My boyfriend is talking about us moving in together and although I’ve thought about it myself (he’s fairly neat and responsible and I don’t think he’d be tough to share a space with) there is ONE major obstacle: his taste in music.

He used to be a roadie for a metal band and all he listens to is Megadeth, Slayer and that kind of really noisy headbanger stuff.

To me, it’s an assault on the senses!

We’ve argued about it before but my fear is that if we live together there’ll be no escaping it. HELP!

A Mommy Blogger Is Getting Ripped For Complaining

There’s a woman named Katie Bower in Georgia who’s a mommy blogger with over 52,000 Instagram followers.  She has five kids, four boys and a girl.  And this week, her second-oldest son turned six.

And Katie posted a picture in honor of his birthday . . . but then wrote that she was really UPSET because she’s noticed pictures of him get FEWER LIKES than ones of her other kids.  Quote, “From a statistical point of view, he wasn’t as popular.”

She’s not sure why.  She thinks maybe it’s because she had her third kid quickly, so this kid didn’t get as many solo baby photos.  So she asked people to give him lots of likes for his sixth birthday. And other people on social media have REALLY turned on her.  As one person wrote, quote, “Full-time mommy bloggers scare me . . . it’s the 2018 version of turning your kids into child stars and profiting off them.”

Katie wound up deleting the post and putting up a tearful apology . . . where she says she now realizes she has to teach her kids that social media likes don’t actually matter.
