A family in Kansas City, Kansas was playing Monopoly and they wound up getting in a fight . . . hey, just like your family does when YOU play Monopoly.

But this one escalated . . . and as a guy argued with his cousin, his cousin’s girlfriend HIT him and shoved him into a mirror.

Then . . . she took off running.

The guy needed to go to the hospital to get stitches . . . and they’re still trying to track down his cousin’s girlfriend on aggravated battery charges.  When they catch her, she’ll go . . . ahem . . . directly to jail.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this happen in a bad 70s movie, but now it appears to be real.  A company known as “Ambrosia” claims they can help combat aging by injecting you with the blood of young donors.  The startup, which has locations in five American cities, claims to have conducted clinical trials which showed “really positive” results, and to have treated about 150 patients.  Donors range in age from 16-25, and recipients start at age 30.  How much for “young plasma treatments”?  $8,000 for one litre.  $12,000 for two litres.

A couple in Cedar Rapids, Iowa was about to have their baby at home when first responders arrived.  And the fire fighters who showed up helped deliver the baby . . . then stuck around to shovel the driveway.

ENTERTAINMENT

Zoe Kravitz is taking on the lead role in the upcoming Disney+ television series reboot of the beloved music-obsessed movie “High Fidelity.” And there’s a fun family connection: The 2000 film featured her mom, Lisa Bonet. Zoe will not be playing the same part that Lisa did. The newly-engaged actress is taking on the starring role of a music-obsessed record store owner that was made famous by John Cusack.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

A hair salon near Ocean City, New Jersey caught fire this past Sunday.  And within minutes, it was an inferno.

Someone got video of it, and one half of the building was engulfed, including a set of stairs in the back.  The fact that the stairs were on fire was a big deal, because two guys who lived in an apartment upstairs were trapped with no way out.

But then out of nowhere, a random guy showed up with a ladder.

His name is Jim Cox, and he owns a contracting company.  He just happened to be driving by with his daughter.  So they grabbed a 20-foot ladder from the top of his van, which was just tall enough to reach a window.

They were able to get both guys out just in time.  Their entire apartment was filled with smoke and on fire about two minutes after that.

Jim left before the local news got there and didn’t want any credit for it.  But they talked to him later on.

He said he’s just happy he and his daughter were in the right place at the right time.

HEALTH BENEFITS TO WALKING IN WINTER:
✓ Sunlight for strong bones:  Vitamin D is an important part of keeping bones strong, and not getting outside means decreased production in our bodies.  Sun exposure triggers vitamin D production in the skin, and bones need vitamin D to make the body absorb bone-strengthening calcium properly.

✓ Boost your mood: Winter doldrums are all too common when the days are shorter, the weather is colder and we feel compelled to stay inside.  Exercise helps counter this mild depression, releasing endorphins that pick up your mood.

✓ Burn extra calories:  There are a couple ways that walking in winter can help you burn extra calories and stay fit.  Being cold helps you burn more calories as the body has to work harder to maintain your core temperature.  Plus, invigorating cold air can clear your mind and reduce stress, which can be helpful for weight loss.  And trudging through snow or walking into the wind takes more energy.

LUKE BRYAN LOVES BEING ABLE TO MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE ON ‘IDOL’ –

American Idol returns to ABC on March 3rd and with it, so does Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie as the show’s judges as well as longtime host Ryan Seacrest. While the bond between the four has solidified even more this season, Luke tells us the most important aspect of the talent competition is the contestants. [“It’s always about the contestants. That’s what makes the show fun for us – the surprises, the talent, the youthfulness of the talent. I mean, we have so many 15, 16, 17-year-olds that are unbelievable, and watching them handle the pressure and have fun and the tears and the joy and the smile and all that. We love the role – me and Katie and Lionel and Ryan – we’re having a great time doing this, and to be able to facilitate these kids’ dreams is very special for us.”]

Luke is set to hit the top of the country charts with his latest hit, “What Makes You Country.”

The new season of American Idol premieres on Sunday, March 3rd at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Carly Pearce’s Parents Sacrificed Their Personal Lives to Help Her Career

Things are going really well for CARLY PEARCE.  She and MICHAEL RAY seem to be about as happy as you can get, and her career’s in a good place.  But the best part is that her parents get to enjoy the ride too.

She says quote, “My parents really sacrificed so many things, both in their personal lives and just in their marriage, to make sure that I was able to get this shot.  I think as I get older, the more I’m appreciative of all of those sacrifices.”

Her folks are still getting a kick out of the whole thing.  It’s not unusual for them to get in the car and travel eight hours just to see her do one show.

Quote, “They were just with me a couple nights ago, and just to get to watch them from the crowd, and think about all of the times that they watched when they were two of four people in the crowd, it’s definitely cool to have them along the journey.”

JIMMIE ALLEN CELEBRATES FIRST NUMBER ONE HIT – (01/23/2019)

Jimmie Allen celebrated his very first Number One hit, “Best Shot,” with a party in Nashville yesterday (Tuesday, January 22nd). Jimmie co-wrote the song as well, making the hit doubly special.

Now that Jimmie has some success both commerically and financially, he tells us things have gotten a little easier in his role as father to his three-year-old son, Aiden. [“For me the first Number One and having radio success just means I can afford to take my son to Disneyworld without selling a kidney. For me, everytime I achieve a little success the first thing that pops in my mind (is), ‘Okay, cool, how than this benefit my son,’ so for me it’s like creating a stable environment financially for him, and just past the monetary side just more of an example of, ‘Hey man, if you work long enough, hard enough and you’re good to people, eventually you’ll find people that are willing to work hard for you.'”]

FAST FACTS

Jimmie joins Kane Brown on his headlining tour beginning on February 15th in Rockford, IL.
