A guy in Houston went to smoke weed at an abandoned house last week, and found a 1,000-pound tiger in a beat-up cage, secured only with a screwdriver and a nylon strap.  He thought he was hallucinating at first, then made an anonymous call to the cops.  They found it yesterday, tranquilized it, and moved it to an animal shelter.  Here are the neighbors, the police, and the city spokeswoman.

Forget expensive medical tests or anything like that.  If you want to see whether or not you’re going to have a heart attack . . . just drop and give me 40.

A new study out of Harvard found that the best sign of whether a man’s heart is healthy or not is whether he can bang out at least 40 push-ups in a row.

If he can, his odds of a heart attack, stroke, or heart disease are 96% LOWER than average.

The researchers say the test works because your ability to do push-ups is the best overall, quote, “marker of general physical fitness” . . . especially for men over 40.

Your Toaster Exposes You to More Pollution Than a Busy Intersection

Add one more thing to the ever-expanding list of stuff that can kill you.  According to a new report, the fumes from your TOASTER are so toxic, it’s worse for you than standing in a busy intersection during rush-hour.

As soon as you push the button down, it starts sending toxic particles into the air, which can then linger in the room and end up in your lungs.

It also happens with other things that produce trace amounts of toxins, like candles, air purifiers, and cleaning products.  And using your stove or oven to cook does it too.

But toasters are worse because they release more “fine particulates” into the air.

According to the World Health Organization, the ideal amount is less than 25 micrograms per cubic meter of air.  Making toast can easily increase the number of particulates to 300 micrograms.  And if you like your toast burnt, it’s more like 3,000.

The two things you can do to make your toast a little safer are:  Don’t toast it quite as much . . . and open a window, or turn on a fan.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

A couple in Ypsilanti, Michigan got into a nasty car crash last Thursday.  They were in a Jeep Cherokee, but you can’t even tell from the photos, because it’s so mangled.

The woman in the passenger’s seat was able to get out of the SUV.  But the guy in the driver’s seat was pinned.

He was hanging halfway out of the window, and couldn’t move because he was pinned between the SUV and a speed limit sign.

Four people tried to push the car so he could get out, but it wouldn’t budge.  But then a 29-year-old guy named Ryan Belcherwho happens to be a professional POWERLIFTER showed up on the scene.

He weighs about 350 pounds, squats 950, and can bench-press over 500 pounds.

He realized they only needed to move the SUV a few feet.  So he reached in through a broken window . . . started lifting and pushing at the same time . . . and moved it just enough for them to pull the guy out.  Then paramedics got him to a hospital.

He was seriously injured but survived, and Ryan went to see him in the hospital the other day.

DIERKS BENTLEY BRINGS ‘BURNING MAN’ TOUR TO NASHVILLE TONIGHT

Dierks Bentley is bringing his Burning Man tour to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena tonight (Friday, February 22nd). While every single show he plays is important, Dierks tells us this one in particular is at the top of the list. [“I mean, it’s such a big deal. I feel like I go out there on the road and no matter what gig I’m playing, play it like it’s Bridgestone. Go out there and just like play it like it’s your hometown show and give every show all you got, but it’s like this is Bridgestone! The guys I know that work on my truck are gonna be there. My daughter’s piano teacher will be in the crowd, and like our doctor, the pediatrician’s gonna be there (laughs) and all my buddies and so there’s that factor to it. There’s the fact a lot of fans travel from all over the country just to come to this one show. I’m also really looking forward to the the (Hot Country) Knights playing. I mean, doing like the Hot Country Knights in my hometown is gonna be so ridiculous.”]

In addition to his 90s country tribute band, Hot Country Knights, Dierks will be joined by Jon Pardi and newcomer Tenille Townes.

Dierks recently topped the charts with “Burning Man,” featuring Brothers Osborne, charting his 18th Number One.

Dierks is nominated for four ACM awards, including Male Artist and Album of the Year for The Mountain. The ACM Awards will air live on CBS on April 7th.
