If you think quicksand only exists in cartoons or old westerns, think again.  A guy from Arizona got stuck in quicksand while he was hiking with his girlfriend in a National Park in Utah over the weekend.  His left leg was stuck up to his knee, and he said it felt like concrete.  So his girlfriend had to hike out for three hours and call for help, all during a winter storm.  So even after the helicopter rescue, they had to spend the night in the Park, and head to the hospital the next day.

A financial services company in New Zealand switched from a regular five-day work week to a FOUR-DAY work week back in November.  And two universities monitored how it turned out.

The answer:  It was a massive success.

The workers were 20% more productive on the four days they were at the office, so the company didn’t see any drop in the total amount of work getting done, even though they were working less hours. And the staff’s stress levels dropped and work-life balance scores went up from 54% to 78%. The CEO of the company says, quote, “This is an idea whose time has come.  We need to get more companies to give it a [try].  They’ll be surprised at the improvement in their company, their staff, and in their wider community.”

Guy Went to a Dog Park Covered in Peanut Butter as Punishment

Did your fantasy football league this year have a punishment for the person who came in last?  This is one of the best we’ve ever seen . . .

A 25-year-old guy in Texas named Steven Shrout joined a league this past year that his friends from high school have been playing in since 2009.  Before this, he’d never played fantasy football before.  So of course he lost.

And as punishment, he had to put on a flesh-toned Speedo . . . cover himself in peanut butter . . . and sit down in the middle of a DOG PARK for 10 minutes.

He actually had a choice.  He could have paid the winner of the league an extra $250 OR do the dog park thing.  And he opted for the dogs.

He went to a dog park in Dallas last Wednesday . . . slathered himself in three jars of Jif . . . and let the dogs go to town while his friends filmed it from their car.

He says he didn’t think it would be a big deal until he heard a couple walk by and say “EWW,” like it was a weird fetish or something.  But when he told the dogs’ owners that he lost a bet, they just cracked up.

Despite the punishment, he says he enjoyed the whole fantasy football thing, and he’ll probably play again next season . . . but might join a different league this time.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

Two little kids under the age of six wandered off while they were playing in their yard in Florida on Saturday.

They ended up on the side of an INTERSTATE and could have been hit.  But luckily, two dogs were there with them.

Both dogs were some sort of shepherd mix, which came into play big time.  Because they literally got in the kids’ way and prevented them from walking out into the road.

Several witnesses told police they saw the dogs pushing the kids toward a guardrail, so they couldn’t walk onto the highway.  And because of that, both of them are fine.

Their foster dad and his other kids were out looking for them when the cops showed up.  The dad actually saw them walk off, but has some sort of medical condition and couldn’t follow them.  So police determined he didn’t do anything wrong.

It turned out the two kids had wandered away while, quote, “trying to chase a rainbow.”

Life-Changing Amount of Money Is . . . Just $19,800

Quick, how much money would you need to get for it to be LIFE-CHANGING?  $100,000?  $1 million?  More?

Nope.  Apparently it’s a lot less.

According to a new survey, the average American says the amount of money they’d call life-changing is . . . just $19,800.

And that’s not the only reasonable thing people said about money in this survey.

The top five things people say they’d do if they DID get a random 20 grand is put it into savings, pay off pay off debt, start a business, or put it into their retirement account.

CHRIS STAPLETON’S ALBUM NODS, WINS ARE MOST MEANINGFUL – (02/22/2019)

Chris Stapleton is tied with Dan + Shay for most nominations — six apiece — at the upcoming ACM Awards. Among Chris’ nods are Entertainer, Song of the Year, Male Artist and Album of the Year for From A Room: Volume 2.

While Chris is grateful for every single trophy he’s nominated for or wins, he tells us he has a special affinity for the Album categories [“They are all significant and if you get one award for anything it’s a treat. But any of the awards that awarded the album, the album awards, because I really wanted to make an album that was good. I wanted it, I wanted that to be a thing, again, more than I wanted it to be, ‘Well here’s the single and eight other songs.’ So, the album awards for me were important in that we did our job in a good way, you know. Just I have such an affinity for albums that I don’t know if I want those more or if they mean more, but they are all meaningful. They are all are things that one of them would feel like a career. One of them. Any one of them.”]

The ACM Awards will be held on Sunday, April 7th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show, hosted by Reba McEntire, will air live on CBS.
