February 1, 2019 9:35 amA 61-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with assault after Police say an argument about snow clearing with her neighbour became physical.
Police say the 61-year-old woman was upset with the way a 71-year-old woman was clearing the snow off her vehicle and where she was putting it.
It’s alleged the younger woman was yelling and screaming at the older woman.
Police said “At one point, she scooped some snow onto her shovel, lifted it to about her waist, flung the shovel and threw the snow, hitting the [older] female, and a minor physical altercation also ensued.”
The 71-year-old woman received a cut to her cheek and bruising to her wrists. Police say she did not require medical attention.

A guy in Des Moines named Tyler Heep showed up at Iowa Lottery headquarters last week to collect his winnings . . . on a scratcher ticket worth ONE DOLLAR.
Obviously, he could have just cashed it at 7-Eleven or something. But he wanted to see what they’d do.
Instead of cash, he asked for a check . . . one of those GIANT checks people get when they win a million bucks. And without even blinking, they actually did it for him.
They printed out a giant check for $1. Then they brought him in the back to take a picture with it in front of the Iowa Lottery Logo. He’s already blown through all the money he won, by the way. He says he used his $1 to buy a half-gallon of gas.

Woman Who Can ‘Taste’ Words Will Tell You What Your Name Tastes Like
There’s a woman from Scotland named Julie McDowall who has synesthesia. That’s where two or more of your senses kind of get scrambled. For example, a trumpet might sound “orange” to someone who has it.
In Julie’s case, her brain associates words with different TASTES. And she’s going viral, because she recently started telling people on Twitter what their NAME tastes like.
She’s gotten millions of requests over the past week, and couldn’t keep up. So now she’ll only respond if you donate to her podcast through PayPal. There’s no set amount. So a couple bucks is probably enough, and she’ll do three names.
Here are a few examples of names she’s already taste-tested: The name Aaron tastes like a stale chocolate bar . . . Brandon and Brent both taste like flat Coca-Cola . . . Brian tastes like shredded coconut . . . Danielle tastes like SpaghettiOs . . .
Keith tastes like mint gum . . . Madison tastes like a mix of chocolate and EAR WAX . . . Sam tastes like tuna fish . . . Sean tastes like furniture polish . . . and Wendy tastes like watered-down orange juice.
When you send money, list the three names you want her to taste, along with your Twitter name so she can respond.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
A 43-year-old woman in Thailand was seven miles into a marathon last week when she saw the runners in front of her avoiding something in the road . . . which turned out to be a puppy.
They were in the middle of nowhere, and there weren’t any houses or other dogs around. So she knew the puppy was either very lost, or someone abandoned it.
So instead of just running around it like everyone else, she picked it up, but kept running the marathon . . . and carried it with her for the last 19 MILES.
Now, a tiny puppy might not seem like much. But even 2 or 3 pounds starts to feel pretty heavy after a while. She says it made the marathon twice as hard, but he was just too cute to just leave behind.
She tried to track down the owner later on, but no one ever came forward. So she took him to a vet, got him vaccinated, and ended up adopting him.
She named him Chombueng, which was the name of the area where the marathon was held.

CARLY PEARCE AND MICHAEL RAY MAKE THE EFFORT TO MEET UP ON THE ROAD –
Carly Pearce knew long before Michael Ray proposed to her that she would spend the rest of her life with him because of the way she feels about him, which she says is a first. That said, Carly tells us she and Michael do whatever it takes to spend time together. [“This is the first time in my life, and will be the only time, that I’ve ever experienced feeling like this for somebody. And I think that when you love somebody like that you want to put in the effort and you want to get closer to them and you want to make them understand that you’re in this. And for us, our life revolves around touring and being away and so we have to go to each other. And I think for me now, and exactly what this song says is, he is now home to me. It doesn’t matter if I’m in my own home, and that’s something that I’ve never experienced and is really special.”]
Carly just kicked off The Way Back Tour with co-headliner Russell Dickerson, which will run through the first part of March. In May, she’ll join Jason Aldean on the Ride All Night Tour, which wraps up at the end of September.
LOCASH WILL BE SPORTING THEIR PATRIOTS AIR FORCE ONES AT SUPER BOWL –
LoCash is caught up in Super Bowl fever, having presented this year’s Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year to running back Saquon Barkley yesterday (Thursday, January 31st) at the Pepsi Rookie Brunch Party in Atlanta, and getting ready to take the stage tomorrow (Saturday, February 2nd) afternoon at the New England Patriots Official Fan Rally at Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon at Centennial Olympic Park.
Chris Lucas and Preston Brust will be sporting some very special footwear when they hit the stage, as Preston tells us: [“Robert Kraft has these customized, one-of-a-kind Air Force Ones . . . (Chris Lucas) Nikes (Preston) And they’re really cool, and they gave them to us as a gift and I would kind of put them on a shelf and I wasn’t ever gonna wear them, but then when the Patriots won the Super Bowl I put them on and we sent it to the organization. I was dancing in the shoes, so maybe we’ll post that video. It was pretty fun. They loved it, so we’re gonna wear our shoes for the show and at the Super Bowl, so that’ll be fun.”]
Yes, the guys will also be attending the big match between the Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams. Kickoff on Sunday (February 3rd) is at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

BRETT YOUNG PULLING FOR TOM BRADY IN SUPER BOWL – (02/01/2019)
Brett Young has never been a huge Patriots fans, but since none of his favorites are playing in Sunday’s (February 3rd) Super Bowl game, he tells us he’s jumping on the Tom Brady bandwagon. [“I’m inclined to now root for the team I’ve been jokingly rooting against for so many years. I don’t really have a dog in the hunt. I do think it’s gonna be a good game, but I don’t know how you bet against Tom Brady in the playoffs, especially against such a young Rams team so I think it’s gonna be another Patriots Super Bowl.”]
Super Bowl Facts:
- No matter who wins the Super Bowl, we’ll set at least one record. If New England wins,
Bill Belichick will be the oldest coach ever to win a Super Bowl. He’s 66. If L.A. wins,
Sean McVay will be the youngest. He’s 33.
And get this: Belichick has been employed in the NFL as a coordinator or head coach longer than McVay has been ALIVE.
- This will be Belichick’s 12th Super Bowl as a head coach or assistant. He’s been involved in 22.6% of ALL Super Bowls, and 36.4% of all Super Bowls since his first one as the Giants defensive coordinator in 1986.
- Tom Brady’snumbers are oddly similar to Jared Goff’s . . . if you compare Brady’s career PLAYOFF numbers with Goff’s career OVERALL numbers.
Brady has 29 playoff wins with 73 passing touchdowns and 10,917 yards . . . to Goff’s 26 career wins with 67 passing touchdowns and 10,323 yards. So it’s close, but Brady’s playoff numbers are more than Goff’s career numbers.
- Goff needed only three seasons to reach the Super Bowl, which is the fewest by a quarterback picked #1 overall. John Elway, Troy Aikman, Drew Bledsoe, and Eli Manningall needed four. And only Aikman and Manning won in those games.
- Brady and Goff have the largest age gap (17 years, 72 days) of any starting quarterback matchup in Super Bowl history.
- Former Patriot Brandin Cooksof the Rams will become the 15th player since the 1970 merger to play in back-to-back Super Bowls for different teams.
- With a win, Cooks would be the 9th player to defeat his former team in the second Super Bowl. Last year, two other former Patriots did it with the Eagles . . . running back LeGarrette Blountand defensive end Chris Long.
- Rob Gronkowskihas the most postseason receptions (75), receiving yards (1,076), and receiving TDs (12) by a tight end in NFL history. Only wide receiver Jerry Rice has more playoff receiving TDs (22) than Gronk.
- 67% plan to watch the Super Bowl this year. So about a third of us won’t be watching.
- More people are rooting for the Rams than the Patriots. 42% want L.A. to win . . . 29% want New England to win . . . and the other 29% don’t really care.
