Loblaws is transitioning some of its No Name frozen chicken products from raw to 100 per cent fully cooked and has issued a voluntary recall as result.

The grocery giant cited the potential risk of illness that’s associated with frozen raw chicken products. The transition will affect their frozen chicken nuggets, strips, and burgers.

The recall includes all lot codes, sold on or before February 8, 2019

All affected products have been removed from store shelves and customers can return the product in-store for a full refund.

The U-S National Retail Foundation says you don’t have to spend a lot to show your Valentine you love them — but it estimates Americans will spend more than 20-billion dollars on Valentine’s Day.

Men are expected to spend more than 300-dollars on their partners, while women are only expected to spend 64-dollars on their significant other.

Experts say there are more economical ways to mark the day such as by cooking dinner together or buying chocolates or flowers, not both.

For Valentine’s Day, Dunkin’ Donuts is doing themed weddings in Vegas complete with a bouquet made from donuts.  James Cordon joked that Vegas weddings don’t need more ‘regret’.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

Back in 2010, a guy named Jeramy Davies hosted a bone marrow drive as a student at Texas Tech.  Then five years later, he got a call that he’d matched with a 27-year-old woman who had cancer.  So he decided to donate.

He didn’t find out her name until a year later, then they became friends.  Her name is Kelly Ribeiro, she lives in New Jersey, and Jeramy’s bone marrow saved her life.

Sadly, Jeramy’s wife Laura got sick around that time.  She’d been fighting brain cancer and was in remission.  But then it came back, and she passed away in 2017.

Obviously Jeramy was torn up about it.  But Kelly talked to him a lot and helped him through it.  Then a little over a year ago, he quit his job and went on a road trip to meet her in New Jersey.  And that’s when he found out she was sick AGAIN.

All the chemotherapy had destroyed her kidneys, and she needed a transplant.  So Jeramy stepped up a SECOND TIME to donate.

Since she already had his bone marrow, they were literally a perfect match, like being identical twins.  The kidney transplant happened in December . . . he saved her life AGAIN . . . and they’re both doing great now.

Back when he donated his bone marrow, Jeramy’s wife said it was the proudest she’d ever been of him.  So with that in mind, he says giving Kelly a kidney was an easy choice to make.

28 DAYS HATH FEBRUARY:
Why do all the other months have 30 or 31 days, and February has 28, 29 in a good year.

In the 8th century BC, they used the Calendar of Romulus, a 10-month calendar that kicked the year off in March and ended in December. January and February didn’t even exist.

The problem? At that point, the year was only 304 days long. Winter was a nameless, monthless period that no one bothered to name or count. In 713 BC, King Numa Pompilius decided there needed to be a name for the period of time in winter, so he split the calendar into 12 lunar cycles—about 355 days—and introduced January and February.

They were added to the end of the calendar, making February the last month of the year. The Romans believed even numbers were unlucky, so Numa tried to make each month contain an odd number of days. But to reach the quota of 355, one month had to have an even number of days.

February ended up pulling the short stick, probably because it was the last month. After a few more adjustments over the years, we eventually arrived at a 365 day calendar, but February stayed at 28 days (29 in leap years).

CARLY PEARCE IS FOCUSED ON ALL THINGS WEDDING

Carly Pearce got engaged to Michael Ray a little over a month ago, and it’s definitely the main topic of conversation these days. [“Ever since I got engaged the number one question I get asked is either, ‘When is the wedding?’ or ‘Have you started wedding planning?’ I’m a girl, I’m wedding planning, looking at all the Pinterest boards, all the colors, all the months, venues, all that stuff. And it is so much fun and such a wonderful time in my life to get to share with my closest girlfriends and my momma and I didn’t know that I cared about it but I totally do.”]

Carly has already found her wedding dress and is making strides in putting the big event together.
