On Today’s Show
March 4, 2019 9:35 amWhat happens when a Canadian grocery store is left unlocked all day long? Not much. When customers at a “Food Basics” store in Kingston, ON discovered the doors unlocked and no staff present on the Family Day holiday, many of them decided to continue with their shopping trip anyway…including paying for their groceries. Reports are that no employees were scheduled to work that day and the doors of the grocery store were accidentally left unlocked. Despite the store’s lack of employees, some customers proceeded to do their shopping, many of them apparently unaware that the store was even closed. Police were finally called…at 4:30pm. Nothing was reported stolen.

A New Jersey school official says four students arrested last week were charged with illegally trying to change grades used keylogging software to hack into the school district’s computer system.
Keystroke logging, or keylogging, software covertly tracks which keys are struck on a computer keyboard and it is most often used to steal passwords. Published reports say the four High School students, ages 15 to 17, allegedly used the software to gain teachers’ log-on information, then changed their own grades and potentially the grades of their friends. …. just like Matthew Broderick in “WarGames”.

The iconic gas station from 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is offering fans the opportunity to dine and sleep at the spooky highway-side business. The Gas Station, located at the side of Highway 304 in Bastrop, near Austin, served as a filming location for the horror classic, and is now a restaurant with four cabins available for short-term rentals. The restaurant also includes a store filled with horror movie merchandise.
The business has a replica of the van from the 1974 film parked out front. “We actually have a gas pump that every once in a while, we take out…the Coca-Cola machine that’s exactly the one from the movie, we take out,” Manager Ben Hughes told KVUE-TV. “If you’re a fan of the movie to begin with, then coming out and actually getting to be in a place where it was, it really heightens it for you,” Hughes said.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
Back in August, a woman in Tokyo had an emergency C-section at just 24 weeks and gave birth to a baby boy who was 268 grams . . . which is only 9.45 ounces.
Well . . . that tiny baby has made a giant comeback.
Over the course of the past several months, he’s managed to pack on 12 times his birth weight. He’s now up to seven pounds, two ounces.
On Tuesday, two months after his official due date, he was sent home from the hospital, totally healthy . . . and that makes him the smallest baby boy EVER to survive.
The smallest girl who’s ever survived was 8.89 ounces. She was born in Germany in 2015.
Overall, only 23 babies worldwide who weighed under 300 grams, or 10.58 ounces, have ever survived . . . and only four of them are male.

IT’S ABOUT TIME:
Just like the weather, many of us complain about the twice per year time change, but no one does anything about it. Except, maybe, in New Mexico.
Lawmakers there are considering a proposal to stop changing the clocks in spring and fall and leave things be. The problem is that some people in neighboring states seem to have a problem with it.
The senate bill would keep the state in Daylight Saving Time year-round, which means that from Nov. 3 to March 10, Las Cruces would be one hour ahead of El Paso, which is right next door.
And you can only imagine the gong show that could result for people trying to conduct business in the area.
Keep in mind, though, that in Canada, the entire province of Saskatchewan does not observe Daylight Saving Time, and life seems to go on for them…and their neighbors.

HERE’S HOW TO ACTUALLY CLEAN YOUR PHONE
If you think about how much your phone comes into contact with you won’t be surprised to hear it’s covered in germs, and you’re probably not cleaning it as often as you should.
Jennifer Gregory, brand manager of the cleaning service franchise Molly Maid says if you take your phone into the bathroom with you then you should clean it weekly or every other week.
If you keep your phone out of bathrooms completely you can get away with cleaning it once a month.
To get rid of most bacteria you simply have to wipe your phone with a microfiber cloth dampened with clean water. Your other option is use a cleaning solution that is equal parts distilled water and 70 percent isopropyl alcohol.
Just be sure to use it with a microfiber cloth, and be careful not to let he moisture leak into any ports, speakers, or microphones on your phone, as it could cause damage.

Florida Georgia Line’s New Album Will Include “Comedy Skits” for Your Amusement
FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE’s new album “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country” has 20 tracks, but four of them are NOT songs. They’re “comedy skits” featuring their friend Nugget, who goes by the stage name Brother Jervel.
TYLER HUBBARD explains. QUOTE, “We did four comedic skits or voicemails that kind of segue into the next song. It’s something a lot of other artists are doing in the urban and hip-hop world, but nobody’s really done it in country.”
It all started when Nugget, or Brother Jervel . . . would leave voicemails that they thought were absolutely hysterical.
Quote “[So] we figured, hey, let’s have him do some little skits on our album and break it up a little bit. Do something different and hopefully give a little comedic relief, if you will. He’s a brilliant writer and an amazing comedian.”

MIDLAND ‘GRATEFUL’ FOR ACM NODS – (02/26/2019)
Midland was just nominated for two ACM Awards, Vocal Group of the Year and Video of the Year for their latest single, “Burn Out.” Band member Cameron Duddy co-directed the video, which was filmed in one intricate, continuous shot with TK McKamy. [“It’s an incredible honor to be nominated for an ACM award. In this category, it’s a first for sure, and I’m very proud of the video that we made all together. It was definitely a family affair. Everybody threw in. My neighbor was in the video. We called a friend from L.A., Ceion to come out and be the lead female in the video. We got Billy Bob’s to throw in and let us shoot there. So when you get to pull off a video and just make it work is already incredibly gratifying, but then to get a nomination, is just kind of beyond explanation. Super grateful.”] SOUNDCUE (:32 OC: . . . explanation. Super grateful.) Prior to joining Midland, Cameron directed videos for Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and more, The ACM awards will be handed out on April 7th and air live from Las Vegas on CBS.
