April 5, 2019 9:35 amFRIDAY APRIL 5TH – WHAT’S HAPPENING
The GPS equivalent of Y2K is happening this Saturday. GPS satellites are on a ten-digit code, which rolls over every 20 years or so. The last time it happened was 1999, but no one had GPS back then. So it could potentially be a big deal . . . but probably not. Unless you’re using an old GPS system, you’ll probably be okay. Here’s one of the architects of GPS.

A Guy Blows Up Someone’s Car . . . for Honking at His Girlfriend in the Drive Thru
Back in early February, a 31-year-old woman was at a McDonald’s drive thru in Illawarra, Australia. And when she was getting her food, she swerved near another car . . . and that driver HONKED at her. Well . . . that honk was enough to send her and her 33-year-old boyfriend over the edge. His name is Ryan Sharp.
First, she called the cops to report the other driver for honking. The cops obviously said there was nothing they could do about it. So . . . the couple spent the next several weeks hunting down the car. And six weeks after they honked at her . . . Ryan found the car in a driveway and BLEW IT UP with a PIPE BOMB.
He’s facing a ton of charges, including stalking, intimidation, destroying property, placing an explosive in a car, possession of a prohibited weapon, and more. His girlfriend was charged with stalking and being an accessory after the fact.

Man Is So Excited It Warmed Up He Goes for a Drunk Joyride on His Lawnmower
The cops in Atikokan, in northern Ontario, pulled over a 31-year-old guy last week after he took his riding lawnmower for a drunk joyride.
Why? Because he was so excited it was warming up a little and summer was on the way.
What does “warming up” mean in northern Ontario? The day he went for his ride, it was a whopping -10 celcius.
But that temperature is way up from back during the polar vortex, when it was about -30 most days and this was the warmest day since October.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
Liz Smith is the director of nursing at a hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts, near Boston. And about two years ago, she got obsessed with one of her patients . . . an eight-month-old baby named Gisele.
She noticed Gisele being wheeled down a hallway and asked another nurse about her. It turned out she had a bunch of issues, because her mom was a drug addict. And she was less than two pounds when she was born.
But here’s the really heartbreaking part: The nurse told her that in the five months Gisele had been there, NO ONE had come to visit her. Social services had been trying to place her in foster care. So that night, Liz decided SHE’D take care of her.
She’s in her 40s, and doesn’t have any kids of her own. But she’s always wanted kids. So three weeks later, she got permission to take Gisele home temporarily.
That was two years ago . . . Gisele still has some health issues, but she’s doing a lot better now.
And “The Washington Post” just did a story on them, because Liz was finally able to officially ADOPT he.

Couple’s Sleeping Arrangement Has Twitter Users in Disbelief
Steve O’Rourke, a writer from Dublin, Ireland, took to Twitter after a casual conversation he had with some colleagues at work about what side of the bed each of them slept on.
When asked, O’Rourke explained that he and his partner Amy didn’t have a fixed side of the bed as they regularly swapped, news that seemed to upset his peers greatly.
We were just chatting in work and apparently it’s weird that Amy and I don’t sleep on the same side of the bed every night,” O’Rourke wrote on Twitter. “Some nights I like to sleep by the window, some nights the door, he added. It’s not really that unusual, is it?”
Poor old O’Rourke certainly got an answer, because the tweet generated thousands of comments from total strangers, many of whom were irate.
Undeterred, O’Rourke plowed on, explaining that the couple even has a set of rules when they side swap. He claimed the couple sometimes could go “days or weeks without swapping … And when we do swap, it’s rarely discussed, just whoever goes to bed first decides.”

APEELING CONCEPT:
It’s no secret that citrus fruits are good for you…but good for your hair?
Apparently grabbing a tangerine will not only give you a healthy dose of vitamin C, but could also delay your hair going grey. Nutritionist Frida Harju-Westman says that Tangerines’ Vitamin B12 works to slow the greying process.
Greying occurs when the body lacks B12, which causes it to produce hydrogen peroxide—making your hair turn gray. And of course, that isn’t the only benefit.
Eat a lot of citrus fruits and you can expect better skin, improved digestion, regulated blood pressure, and a host of other benefits.

BRETT YOUNG TO PERFORM CURRENT HIT ON ‘AMERICAN IDOL’
Brett Young will perform his current Top 15 hit, “Mercy,” on American Idol on Sunday (April 7th) night during the All-Star Duets segment. The singer is surprisingly no stranger to reality singing competitions, having tried out for NBC’s The Voice multiple times. [“I auditioned for The Voice three times and never got the call back either time, and then, right after I moved to Nashville, I got an e-mail saying, you know, we reviewed your tapes and this season was kind of light in terms of talent, and you can skip the audition process and move straight to The Blinds, to TV. We would love for you to come be a part of the show. And so I said yes and I went and did the psych evaluation and everything in L.A.. And I was a couple days from flying to L.A. to start filming. And you know, when you get there, you sign the final agreement and everything, which ends up being your record deal and this whole thing. And it was like less than a week before I left that I had my first meeting with Big Machine. And so yeah, I would have done it, absolutely, and would have been so grateful for the opportunity.”]
American Idol airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
LUKE BRYAN SAYS ACM NODS ARE A ‘BIG DEAL’ – (04/05/2019)
Luke Bryan goes into this year’s ACM Awards with a pair of nominations for Entertainer, an award he’s taken home twice, and . Single of the Year for his multi-week Number One hit “Most People Are Good.”
[“I’m very, very proud to be nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs. That’s always the highlight going out there. If I’m nominated for Entertainer of the Year, it’s such a big deal for me, but to have ‘Most People Are Good” nominated, is so, so special for me for my fans and the songwriters of that song and to have the opportunity to potentially win an ACM Award is such a big deal for me. So excited.”]
Luke is also set to perform his brand new single, “Knockin’ Boots,” during the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards.
BROOKS & DUNN GIVE THEIR HITS A ‘REBOOT,’ IN STORES TODAY – (04/05/2019)
Brooks & Dunn‘s new project, Reboot, sees release today (Friday, April 5th). It’s a collection of a dozen of the duo’s biggest hits revisited by Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn along with today’s hottest rising country stars like Kacey Musgraves, Kane Brown, Brett Young, Thomas Rhett, Ashely McBryde and Luke Combs, to name a few.
Actually, the idea for Reboot was sparked by something Luke was doing in his live shows. [“Luke kind of started this by posting ‘Brand New Man’ with some of his band banging out the song and next thing you know Kacey’s doing ‘Neon Moon’ in her show. Ronnie sends me a copy and he goes, ‘Hey, check this out,’ and Clarence said, ‘I think there could be a project here,’ so he came back a few weeks later and said, ‘Hey, I want to talk to you guys. Here’s what’s going on. (I) made a bunch of calls and everybody wants to do this.'”]
Brooks & Dunn will team with Luke to perform “Brand New Man” on the ACM Awards on Sunday

JUSTIN MOORE IN LAS VEGAS
Justin Moore may hit the blackjack tables this weekend in Vegas. And if he does, he better not have too many cocktails. He says, quote, “My limit is a little higher the more I drink, so I try not to drink too much when I’m playing or I might empty out my bank account.”
