A woman in Michigan recently hit a huge pothole on her street, and blew a tire.  And her 12-year-old son Monte was so annoyed at the city for not fixing it, he filled it himself.  When they found out, they finally showed up to fix some of the other ones.  But he’s still not satisfied, and doesn’t think they did a very good job.

Here’s one that might give you nightmares. Doctors in Taiwan found four “sweat” bees in a woman’s eye socket drinking her tears. The patient was pulling weeds with a relative when the insects got into her eye. Doctors who removed the bees said the patient suffered a bacterial skin infection and inflammation of the cornea because the bees ate from her eye for four hours. The sweat bees are known to be attracted to perspiration and treat humans as a salt lick. The woman is expected to make a full recovery.

ENTERTAINMENT

Jimmy Kimmel had the cast of “Avengers: Endgame” on this week.  They were really touched when Chris Hemsworth said that one of his best lines in “Thor Ragnarok” was given to him by a sick boy who was visiting the set.

The line is when Hulk shows up at the coliseum and Thor says “He’s a friend from work.”

Maybe LORI LOUGHLIN and her husband should have pleaded guilty with FELICITY HUFFMAN on Monday . . . because yesterday they got hit with a brand new charge.

In addition to the fraud charges, Lori, her husband Mossimo Giannulli, and 14 other parents are now facing a charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

The money laundering charge comes from the fact that the money these parents paid to get their kids into college was funneled through a fake charity.  It carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison . . . just like the fraud charge.

It’s not likely that Aunt Becky will be sent away for 40 years, but prosecutors have been saying they want everyone involved in this chaos to get at least SOME jail time.

TMZ says they’ll recommend roughly 4 to 6 years . . . while they’ll only ask for two to two-and-a-half years for Felicity and the others who pleaded guilty on Monday.  But an expert says he thinks Lori will get 3 to 5, while Felicity is looking at less than a year.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

A 71-year-old woman in Michigan named Bernice Ramsey recently found out she needed a liver transplant, or she’d die.  And none of her family members were a match.

But it turned out her granddaughter’s BOYFRIEND was.  And he immediately stepped up to help.

His name is Cody Corwin, and he’s 26.  He’s been dating Bernice’s granddaughter Shelby for about three years.

Her family actually thought about REFUSING, because it was such a big gesture.  And he’d miss at least two months of work to recover.  But he insisted, and put himself on the donor list.

The surgery happened February 25th, and they’re both doing great.  Bernice’s family started a GoFundMe page to try and cover Cody’s lost wages.  They’re hoping to raise $25,000, and they’re up to about 15 grand so far.

Jeff Bezos’ Wife is Walking Away with $36 Billion

JEFF BEZOS and his wife MACKENZIE have finalized their divorce, and yeah, she did okay.  She’s walking away with $36 BILLION.  Of course, that’s out of an estimated $149 billion fortune, but I think she’ll get by.

In fact, she’s now one of the richest women in the world.

In return for the cash, Jeff is keeping most of their stake in Amazon, plus all of the “Washington Post” and the aerospace company Blue Origin, which Jeff founded in 2000.  And it sounds like there are no hard feelings.

Jeff Tweeted, quote, “I am very much looking forward to our new relationship as friends and co-parents.

And MacKenzie said she was, quote, “Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next.”

JASON ALDEAN SAYS TODAY’S RISING STARS INDICATE ‘BRIGHT FUTURE IN COUNTRY MUSIC’ –

Jason Aldean predicts that country music’s future is very bright. Based on the newest crop of up-and-comers, he tells us that the genre is in good hands. [“I look out and I see guys like Luke Combs. I see Ashley McBryde and Maren Morris, Kane Brown. A lot of talent and a lot of future, you know? It’s cool to see people that love country music and want to take it to the next step. The thing about country music is it’s gonna change. The way we do it now, this generation’s gonna do it a lot different from now. We do it a lot different from the guys that were before us so I think those guys are doing it right. I think there’s a bright future in country music. It looks good and hopefully they let us keep being a part of it for a while.”]

Jason is climbing the charts with his latest single “Rearview Town,” the title track from his current album.

On Sunday (April 7th), Jason was awarded the Dick Clark Artist of the Decade trophy at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas. It was presented to him by his idol and previous Artist of the Decade, George Strait.

Brad Paisley is Building a “Free” Grocery Store

Brad Paisley broke ground on a “free” grocery store in Nashville this week.  If you’re wondering what a free grocery store is, it’s a grocery store where everything is free.

It’s to help needy families who are dealing with food insecurity, which is a fancy way of saying they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.  And it’s a big problem.  One in five kids live that way.

It’ll be called ‘The Store,’ it’ll be located on the campus of Belmont University, where Brad went to college, and it’ll open later this year.

Instead of a soup kitchen or a food bank, it’ll look and operate like a real grocery store.  People go ‘shopping’ through the aisles, then students and volunteers scan their items.  But no money changes hands.  Even the mechanical horse outside is free.

That might sound a little odd, but the idea is give people dignity.  According to Brad, it “takes away the sting of embarrassment” for parents who feel ashamed they can’t feed their children, when they’re just trying to get back on their feet.

Quote, “The kids should not know what their parent is going through.  That’s not stress a child needs.”

George Strait on Concerts Then and Now

GEORGE STRAIT’S new album is called “Honky Tonk Time Machine”, and obviously it’s a topic he knows a lot about . . . because he played a ton of them all throughout Texas before he filled arenas.

He says each one has a great feel, and they’re all intimate.  He even listed his three favorites in a new interview . . .

Gruene Hall outside San Antonio . . . the Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, Texas, where he played his first shows . . . and the Broken Spoke in Austin, which is on the cover of the new album.

But he says playing shows is a lot different now.

Quote, “In those days, the crowds weren’t standing at the front of the stage.  They were dancing.

“That was what it was all about.  If they weren’t dancing, you probably weren’t doing too good.”
