A female python measuring more than five metres long and weighing 63 kilograms has been captured on a south Florida wildlife preserve.

Officials at Big Cypress National Preserve say the snake is the largest python ever found in the park.

Wildlife managers were using male pythons attached with radio transmitters to track down breeding females as they work to remove the invasive reptiles.

The python had 73 developing eggs.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

A cop in Grand Rapids, Michigan named Austin Lynema recently gave a nine-year-old kid a ride to school after he missed his bus.

The kid’s name is Thomas Daniel.  And Austin saw him running after his bus CRYING, because he’d never missed a day of school before.

It also happened to be Thomas’s BIRTHDAY.  And on their way to the school, he told Austin he was worried no one would show up to his party.  Turns out he gets bullied a lot.  And unfortunately he was right.

None of his friends from school showed up for his party that night.  But AUSTIN did, and brought a few other cops with him.  So Thomas still had a good time.

And it didn’t end there.  Because Austin and the other cops decided to throw him a SECOND party the next day and gave him a bunch of cool stuff.

He got toys . . . shirts and hats with the police department logo on them . . . a bunch of Krispy Kreme donuts that spelled out “Happy Birthday” . . . and Austin even brought along a QUARTET to sing to him.

Thomas says he’ll never forget it for the rest of his life.  And he called Austin “the coolest guy [he’s] ever met.”

SINGLE BASEBALL FAN

New York state resident Matt Russo broke up with his long-term girlfriend Thursday, so he did what any newly single man would do: He went to the Mets home opener and wrote his phone number on a sign. “I’m single as of today! Ask me for my #. I dare you, he wrote above his digits.

Russo became a viral hit when he ran into former ESPN sports business guru Darren Rovell, who has more than 2 million Twitter followers. “Darren Rovell saw my sign, thought it was cool and asked if it was cool to post it. My intention was to watch the Mets game but apparently that’s not going to happen today.”

Instead, the bartender and owner of Modern Event Staffing is fielding a flurry of text messages and calls from as far away as California, Arizona and Tennessee. “Within the first 20 minutes, I got about 70 texts. I am getting calls from guys giving me support. I got a couple of calls from people trashing my ex, and said, I would rather you not do that.

I still respect her. Russo said he and his ex, whom he declines to name, dated for five years. But they simply grew into different people and decided to split.

IT DOES GROW ON YOU:
Rejoice if you like men with beards!  Science says they make better partners.

A study published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology determined that men with beards are more likely to be considered long-term relationship material compared to those without.  The logic is this:

Men with beards straddle the line of masculinity and femininity, and the beard essentially alters the face shape of a man. And women apparently think this is more attractive because they don’t like men to be either too masculine or too feminine. Add to that the idea that facial hair indicates testosterone, and testosterone indicates maturity.

While ALL of the 8.520 women questioned in the study showed a preference for facial hair, it was found that females consider men with bountiful beards good marriage material, but men with little-to-no scruff better for casual relationships.

Country Music Legend Earl Thomas Conley Has Died

Legendary counter singer EARL THOMAS CONLEY has died.  He was 77.  He had been in poor health for a few years, and was in hospice care for several months.  He suffered from a condition similar to dementia.

BLAKE SHELTON made the announcement yesterday, saying, quote, “My heart is absolutely destroyed.  I’m sad to report that Earl Thomas Conley passed away very early this morning.  Earl was my all-time favorite singer, hero, and my friend.  Prayers to his family”

Blake idolized the guy.  During an interview last year he called him his “musical hero” and said he was an “incredible vocalist” who was “underrated.”  They’ve known each other a long time.  They co-wrote Blake’s 2002 hit “All Over Me”.

Earl wrote or co-wrote the bulk of his own hits, and there were a ton.  He charted 34 songs in his career.  25 were Top 10 hits . . . and of those, 18 went to Number One.

And he knew how to pick good duet partners.  He and ANITA POINTER of the Pointer Sisters had a huge hit with their song TOO MANY TIMES.  It even led to an appearance for them on “Soul Train”.

He and EMMYLOU HARRIS had a #1 hit in 1988 with WE BELIEVE IN HAPPY ENDINGS.

CHRIS LANE INDULGES HIS ‘PASSION’ WHILE ON TOUR – (03/15/2019)

Chris Lane hits the road with Dan + Shay later this month and for him, one of the perks of being in a different city every day is getting to try out the local golf courses. Chris tells us exclusively that over the last few years, his obsession with golf has intensified. [“Progressively, I just kept getting that fever and that itch, like just more and more and more every single year, and now it’s probably a little too much, but I don’t know. It’s something that makes me really happy and I love it and I don’t think I could ever get tired of it. It’s much like football and baseball was and basketball was for me growing up. I mean, that’s the only thing I ever did. It’s what truly made me happy and now that I don’t get a chance to do that I found something else that makes me truly happy other than being able to write music and perform and do all that kind of stuff. Golf is my passion. But it is a fun thing you get to go do during the day. You get to travel the country, go play a new golf course. It’s fun!”]

He’s currently dating Lauren Bushnell, who appeared on The Bachelor in 2016.
