On Today’s Show
April 23, 2019 9:35 amAn 82-year-old woman in Scotland recently got fined almost $600 for blasting music for two years to annoy her neighbors. She was mad that their van blocked sunlight from getting into her house. When the cops finally showed up after more than a year of complaints, they found Stella had her speakers pointed at the wall toward her neighbor’s house, and she was wearing earplugs.
She was blasting a song from 1922 called The Laughing Policeman.” Sometimes at 2:00 A.M. And when you hear how annoying the song is, it’s amazing her neighbors lasted two years. She has also moved to a different part of Scotland.

Hand sanitizer has been in stores since the late ’80s. A nurse in California came up with it in the ’60s, and Purell started selling it in 1988.
But is it possible you’ve been doing it WRONG this whole time. If you just put a dab or two on your hands and rub it in for a few seconds . . . then YES, you’re doing it wrong. Because it should take longer than that.
To kill all the bacteria on your hands, you have to put sanitizer on then rub them together vigorously until they’re totally DRY. If it takes less than 15 seconds, you didn’t use enough. And it won’t kill all the bacteria. The World Health Organization says to rub it in for at least 20 to 30 seconds. But a new study just found 15 seconds is enough.

The Easter Bunny Got into a Brawl in Florida . . . and the Video Is Going Viral
A man and a woman got into a fight on Sunday night in downtown Orlando when, apparently, they bumped into each other.
And a guy in a full Easter Bunny costume just happened to be on the street. At first, he tried to break up the fight. But then he QUICKLY changed gears and started throwing punches at the man.
A cop broke things up shortly after that. And someone on the street managed to get the entire thing on video.
The cop didn’t wind up arresting anyone.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS
Here’s a pretty crazy video. And thankfully, it has a happy ending . . . A blind guy fell onto a set of train tracks at a Bethesda, Maryland subway station near D.C. last week. And a bunch of random people SAVED him.
He was using his cane, and didn’t realize he was standing at the edge of the platform. Then he stepped off the edge and fell HARD. It took a few seconds for other people in the station to realize what happened. Then five of them ran in to help.
He managed to get back on his feet. Then three guys grabbed his arm and yanked him back onto the platform just in time. Right then, you can see a train pulling in at the other end of the station. And they only had about 20 seconds to spare.
He has a few injuries from the fall, but should be okay.

Man’s Lucky Lotto Numbers Finally Pay Off After 20 Years
A South Carolina man said his $100,000 lottery jackpot came at the end of more than 20 years of playing drawing games with the same set of numbers.
The Beaufort man told South Carolina Education Lottery officials he played his usual numbers in the April 7 Palmetto Cash 5 drawing, which earned him a $100,000 prize.
The man said he has his numbers, 2-5-17-26-27, memorized. “I didn’t even need my ticket to know that I’d won,” the man said of when he checked the results. “I’ve had those numbers for more than 20 years,” he said. “That’s a long time.”
The winner said he plans to keep using the numbers, which are a combination of family birthdays and his wedding anniversary.

Screen-Time-ADHD-Study
Researchers at the University of Alberta have found a link between screen time and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
The team followed more than 34-hundred children in four large Canadian cities from 2009 to 2012.
They found kids who had two or more hours of screen time per day were nearly six times more likely to have attention problems and a nearly eight fold increased risk of meeting criteria for
A-D-H-D compared with those who got 30 minutes or less.
The study also discovered children who got more than two hours per week of organized physical activity were less likely to experience mental health problems.

LANCO’S EARLY STRUGGLES MAKE SUCCESS THAT MUCH SWEETER – (04/23/2019)
Newly-crowned ACM New Group of the Year LANCO have definitely come a long way from their early beginnings as a band. When it comes to paying their dues, these guys have struggled and gone without to make their musical dreams come true. Lead singer Brandon Lancaster tells us about their early days of barely getting by. [“Four out of five of us were all on a lease together in a house that like at any time eight guys were living in. It was a two bedroom house. (Tripp Howell) Brandon couldn’t afford $150 in rent (laughs). (Brandon) Yeah, I ended up subleasing my room and just living on the couch because even like a hundred bucks was too much, so to go from that . . . and we used to practice in a warehouse and drive around, we started out like in an Expedition then a van then an RV and now all the physical things — we all have our own places, we have a tour bus and all these cool things have happened.”]
LANCO just released the video for their new single, “Rival,” which already boasts over one million streams. The video was filmed in Nashville and brings together a diverse crowd from all walks of life who have overcome judgement cast by others.
“Rival” is the lead single from LANCO’s upcoming sophomore album.

KELSEA BALLERINI’S FIRST HEADLINING ARENA TOUR HAS BEEN ‘A DREAM’ SO FAR – (04/18/2019)
Kelsea Ballerini is enjoying one of the biggest and busiest weeks of her career so far. On Tuesday (April 16th), she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, following opening weekend of her very first headlining arena tour. Kelsea tells us that her Miss Me More tour with special guest Brett Young marks a personal and professional milestone. [“Going from theaters — I did a theater tour last year — to arenas is a really big jump and I was really nervous cause I haven’t seen a girl do that in a long time and so when the first night sold out I was like, ‘Okay . . . this is the coolest thing ever.’ It’s really fulfilling to know that you can write these songs about how you feel and put a lot of work into it and people resonate with it and they connect with it enough to spend money on a ticket come see it and the first weekend of the tour was like a dream.”]

Willie Nelson Has Been Arrested in “Everything He’s Owned”
There’s an episode of SAMMY HAGAR’s “Rock and Roll Road Trip” show on AXS-TV where he interviews WILLIE NELSON. It airs May 5th, but they’ve released a preview clip. It sounds like it’s going to be fun.
They’re sitting in Willie’s tour bus . . . which got Sammy wondering about all the pot smoking and partying that’s gone down in there through the years. So he asked if anyone’s ever been arrested in it.
Willie played along and said, quote, “Oh, I’ve been arrested in everything I’ve owned, I’ll tell you that.”
That cracked Sammy up, but he still wanted more. He was thinking about “the old days” when the bus would go rolling through the south. And then Willie reminded him that he’s from Texas.
Sammy actually thought that would work to Willie’s advantage. Like, maybe they’d give him a “get out of jail free” card. Not so much. Willie said, quote, “Oh yeah, they’ll give me a nice cell.”
