The cops in Punta Gorda, Florida pulled over a car around 3:30 A.M. on Monday for blowing a stop sign.  A 22-year-old guy named Michael Clemons was driving and a 25-year-old woman named Ariel Machan-Le Quire was in the passenger seat.

They let the cops search their car, and the cops found a bag with 41 small turtles inside.  Then the cops asked if they had anything else.

And Ariel reached into her yoga pants . . . and pulled out a foot-long BABY ALLIGATOR.

Michael and Ariel said they had been collecting animals under an overpass, but they violated the bag limits for reptiles, so they got citations.  All the reptiles were seized by police and released.

A woman on Vancouver Island, near Seattle, was about to pull into a parking spot at Costco last Sunday, when another woman zipped in and stole it.  So they started arguing.

Then the woman who stole the spot decided to defend it . . . with a MACHETE.

She reached into her car . . . pulled the machete out . . . and acted like she was about to swing it.  So the other woman backed off and called the cops.

Police were able to identify the machete woman.  She’s 29 years old, and agreed to be interviewed by cops after she saw the story on the news.

It’s not clear what kind of charges she might face, or why she had a machete in her car.

TODAY’S GOOD NEWS

How’s this for a Mother’s Day story:  There’s an 81-year-old in Ireland named Eileen Macken, who grew up in an orphanage and never knew her parents.

She started searching for her mom when she was 19, and kept searching for 60 years but never found her.  Then last year, she told her story on a radio show in Ireland.  And a genealogy expert who happened to be listening offered to help.

And after some digging, they found out her mom was STILL ALIVE.

Her name is Elizabeth.  She lives in Scotland and turns 104 years old this weekend.  And last month, Eileen flew to Scotland to meet her for the very first time.

Eileen’s family was a little worried about her traveling, because SHE’S so old.  And she’s had some health issues.  But she told them she HAD to do it.

Apparently her mom had no idea she was coming.  Eileen just showed up at her door, and her half-brother answered. She called in to the same radio station the other day and told the whole story.  And it couldn’t have gone better.

She said her mom is incredibly kind . . . wouldn’t let go of her hand the whole time . . . and didn’t want her to leave.  And there’s a great photo of them posing together in Elizabeth’s living room.

CHRIS YOUNG SEES MOTHER’S DAY AS A CHANCE TO SAY ‘THANK YOU’

With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, Chris Young is reminded of how grateful he is for everything his mom has done for him, particularly since she was a single parent for several years. [“It’s a really big time of year for everybody. Even if it’s just to get to spend a little time with your mom. You know, it’s not necessarily all about, you know, getting her a gift, it’s about just saying, ‘Thank you.’ I mean, they really do shape so much of your life. Your parents do. And your mom’s always a big person. Especially for me. She raised us for a little while, me and my sister, basically by herself. Before my stepdad, who I call my dad, came in the picture, it was just her. And we . . . I never, as a kid, wanted for anything. And that was how my mom looked at everything. And that’s how a lot of moms do, and I think that’s why we have a Mother’s Day. Just some of the stuff they do, that they give up for their children, really to make sure you have a great life and a great experience as a child. It’s pretty amazing how much of their personal time they give up, and go, you know, ‘This isn’t for me, this is for my kid.'”]

Chris performed last night (Thursday, May 9th) in London on his Raised On Country Tour. He’ll have some time to spend with his mom on Sunday (May 12th) before continuing with his tour in the U.S.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD IS ADJUSTING TO ‘VERY DIFFERENT’ LIFE WITH TWO KIDS –

Carrie Underwood will celebrate her first Mother’s Day as the mom of two this Sunday (May 12th). She’s gotten back into the groove of life with a newborn, but as Carrie tells us, it’s been a while since she and hubby Mike Fisher last visited the bottles and diaper stage. [“Life is very different with two. We kind of got out of that baby stage with Isaiah. He’s much more self-efficient, and he can brush his own teeth and put his own clothes on, and he’s making decisions for himself, and then we start all over with the little squishy one again. It’s just kind of crazy. You forget how hard it is, to be honest, but you just figure your way through it. I am so blessed to have Isaiah who is super helpful and super sweet, and he loves his little brother.”]

JON PARDI CREDITS HIS GRANDMOTHER WITH TEACHING HIM ABOUT SINGING

Jon Pardi has been singing and learning about performing country music since he was a little boy. His introduction came from his grandmother:[“My grandmother loved to sing, and she would sing anywhere she could ‘cause it made her happy. And so when my parents would leave me with her while they went to work, most of the time we were in the little room when George Strait tapes and Garth Brooks, and Randy Travis, George Jones, I mean all just traditional country singing and having a good time recording ourselves, and so I grew up singing so it really helped me get my voice in, and my grandma was a great performer. She didn’t have the great voice, but she could definitely entertain a room and I got some of that too I think from her.”]
He continues on tour with Dierks Bentley
