Growing Number of People Have Stopped Washing Themselves

Apparently, there’s a growing number of people who’ve stopped bathing, showering, and washing themselves completely . . . so they can let the natural bacteria of their skin grow, flourish, and handle the job of keeping them clean.

They also believe that by cutting back on those products, it can help fight skin diseases like acne and eczema.

Does it work?  One woman says she works out a ton, doesn’t shower after, and, quote, “Over time, my skin has adjusted.  I don’t smell.”  There’s not really any scientific evidence either way, though, so it’s hard to say if it’s REALLY a good move or not.

But “waiting for evidence” is NOT what we do in 2019 . . . so people are buying up “probiotic skincare” products like lotions, deodorants, and other things you can use without messing with your skin’s natural bacteria.

One beauty industry analyst says their market share has increased more than 300% over the past four years.

GOOD NEWS

If your dog’s life is in trouble, you’ve gotta save the dog.  Even if it means doing this . . . There’s a guy in southwest Florida, in a place called Nokomis, who heard some noises coming from the canal behind his house last week.

When he got out there, he saw his chocolate lab was in the canal . . . and a nine-foot GATOR was chomping down on it.

The guy didn’t hesitate . . . he jumped right into the canal and pried the gator’s jaws open to rescue his dog.  And as soon as he got the jaws loose, he grabbed his dog and pulled him to safety.

Both the guy and the dog were injured, but fortunately they’re going to be okay.

A trapper was able to capture the alligator and get it out of the canal.

Recycling Center Workers Recover Man’s Lost $23,000 Cash

Workers at a California recycling center’s sorting line were able to recover nearly $23,000 cash that had been mistakenly thrown out with a shoebox.

Officials at Recology in Humboldt County said the man contacted the company to report the shoebox containing his life savings had been tossed out with the recycling and he realized the mistake too late to prevent it from being sent to the sorting center in California.

Recology officials said workers were asked to be on the lookout for the box, but they considered it unlikely that anyone would be able to spot the object among the thousands of pounds of recycling.

Linda Wise, general manager of Recology’s Samoa Resource Recovery Center, said a sharp-eyed worker spotted the box on the sorting line Friday morning. She said workers were surprised to discover it still contained $22,940 of the man’s missing money, with only $320 unrecovered.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD…NOW:
➠ Go Outside:  Researchers say we need at least 2 hours of outside time per week for physical and mental well-being.

➠ Talk to a friend:  We need social interactions to stay emotionally and physically healthy. Loneliness is associated with a reduction in lifespan equivalent to what you’d see if you smoked 15 cigarettes a day. So, call your best friend or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.

➠ Spend some relaxing time alone:  We need alone time too. That includes time away from electronic devices. Take just 15 minutes to be quiet, alone and peaceful.

➠ Exercise:  When you do, you sleep better, feel less stress, and improve your mood. Even a short burst of exercise can improve your energy level.

➠ Eat a healthy meal: Multiple studies have found a correlation between a diet high in refined sugars and impaired brain function — and a worsening of symptoms of mood disorders, such as depression.

➠ Listen to Music:  Research shows that “music seems to ‘selectively activate’ neurochemical systems and brain structures associated with positive mood, emotion regulation, attention and memory.” Generally, music that’s slower with more gentle chord progressions and longer notes is best.

➠ Go to bed early:  This could be the most important one. Poor sleep habits lead to adverse psychological and physical health outcomes. A nap during the day can also be beneficial.

Some companies have started using new fibers and treatments to make clothes that won’t STINK even after you wear them for weeks or months between washes.

And they aren’t just a big win for those of us who hate doing laundry . . . they’re a big win for the environment.

Washing machines are responsible for 17% of the water we use in our homes, and a quarter of the carbon footprint of every piece of clothing comes from cleaning it.

BLAKE SHELTON SAYS HIT SONG ‘REIGNITES’ HIS EXCITEMENT – (08/08/2019)

Blake Shelton joined the writers of his latest Number One hit, “God’s Country” — Devin Dawson, Hardy and Jordan Schmidt — for a celebration in Nashville yesterday (Wednesday, August 7th) at Blake’s Ole Red venue. Blake said “God’s Country” has been pivotal in changing his mindset about his career. [“If I said, ‘Hey, man, my last record kind of felt like things are slippin’, this is sloughin’ off here a little bit, you know,’ people would say to me, ‘What are you talkin’ about? You had a Number One song on there. The album’s gold. It’s a platinum single, ‘ all these things but still, you kind of feel it, you know, and so I was back home in Oklahoma and (producer) Scott (Hendricks) sent me ‘God’s Country.’ I stopped and I called Scott. I go, ‘Man, that’s literally the kind of song that I feel like makes me want to make another record. That kind of reignites my excitement for, not for country music, but for what I do in country music.'”]

While Blake has recorded a few songs, he says he’s not thinking about releasing an album anytime soon.

FAST FACTS

Blake will perform at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA with George Strait on August 17th.

Jordan Davis says he has struck a better balance in his life since recently learning that his wife is expecting their first child. He tells us: [“That’s a pretty powerful statement that comes at you when you find out you’re gonna be a dad, and I was really, really into music really hard and probably kind of too hard to where now it’s kind of like it’s been a good balance of kind of stepping back and being like, ‘Alright, dude, I’ve gotta focus just as hard on being a dad as I do on making this next album.'”]

Baby Davis is due sometime later this year.

Jordan continues a busy tour schedule this summer, playing fairs, festivals and arena dates through the fall.

He’s currently climbing the charts with “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot,” the third single from his debut album, Home State.
