Lightning struck a Florida couple’s septic tank, causing the methane gas in the lines to ignite and blow up their toilet.  They’ve been finding pieces of porcelain all throughout the yard, even out to the street.  But, thankfully, no one was on the toilet when it happened.

A woman named Jamie Bisceglia was fishing in Tacoma, Washington last week and wound up putting a small octopus on her FACE for a picture.

But . . . it BIT her.  And it injected her with the poison it uses to stun its prey.

So Jamie wound up in the emergency room.  She’s on three antibiotics, and, quote, “I’m still in pain . . . this can come and go, the swelling, for months they say.

COUNTRY MUSIC NOTE

1980  The Urban Cowboy soundtrack double album was at #1 on the US Country chart.

The album spawned numerous Top 10 singles, such as #1 “Lookin’ for Love” by Johnny Lee, #1 “Stand by Me” by Mickey Gilley, #3 (AC chart), “Could I Have This Dance” by Anne Murray, and #4 “Love the World Away” by Kenny Rogers. The film is said to have started the 1980s boom in pop-country music known as the “Urban Cowboy Movement”

Yankees and White Sox Will Play Regular Season Game at the ‘Field of Dreams’ Site

The New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox will play a regular season game at the site where the 1989 movie “Field of Dreams” was filmed in Iowa.

The game is happening on August 13th of NEXT year, and it’ll air on Fox.

Obviously, there’s not an actual stadium there among the cornfields . . . so a temporary, 8,000-seat ballpark will be built for the game.  Construction will begin Tuesday.

The dimensions of the ballpark were not announced . . . but in some photos it looks like the right-field wall will be broken up by windows to show the cornstalks behind them.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said, quote, “I had heard little whispers about it . . . We’ll get [KevinCostner back to throw the first pitch.  [And get] James Earl Jones to get a [catcher’s] mask.”  It’s unclear if he’s serious about that.

MLB put out a video hyping the game, with Yankee Aaron Judge alongside old footage of Costner.

GOOD NEWS

DANNY TREJO doesn’t just PLAY a hero in the “Machete” movies . . .  he lives that life.

Danny was driving in L.A., when he saw a car accident.  One of the vehicles was overturned, and there was a young boy inside, strapped into his car seat, hanging upside down.

Danny sprang into action . . . he got out of his car and crawled INSIDE the overturned vehicle, but he couldn’t undo the kid’s buckle.  Another bystander, a young woman, entered from the other side, and WAS able to undo it.

Together, the two brought the kid to safety.  The boy’s grandmother was also trapped inside the car . . . but they needed to wait for the firefighters to help get her out.  As far as we know, she’s okay too.

The boy has special needs . . . so Danny tried his best to distract him.

He said, quote, “He was panicked.  I said ‘Okay, we have to use our superpowers.’  So, he screamed ‘superpowers’ and we started yelling ‘superpowers.’  I said ‘Do this, with the muscles.’  He said ‘muscles.'”  The whole time, he kept the boy faced away from the accident.

Last night on “Lights Out”, David Spade and his guests were talking about how actor Danny Trejo saved a kid from an overturned car when Trejo appeared on a surprise Facetime call.  He was at his taco shop, Trejo’s Tacos.  He did a funny turnaround on how celebrity guests always give something to an entire talk show audience.  (From “Lights Out” on Thursday, August 8, 2019)

GET YOUR 10K STEPS? YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO (06/04/2019)

Our fitness trackers suggest we get 10,000 steps per day– but is that really necessary?

Researchers looked at thousands of women, and found the benefits associated with walking began in earnest at about 4,400 steps daily, and leveled off at 7,500, at least among older women.

Study leader I-Min Lee of Harvard adds, “I’m not saying don’t get 10,000 steps. If you can get 10,000 steps, more power to you. But if you’re someone who’s sedentary, even a very modest increase brings you significant health benefits.”

LUKE COMBS’ NEW ALBUM DUE OUT IN NOVEMBER – (08/09/2019)

Luke Combs will release a new full-length album on November 8th, but he hasn’t announced a title or any other specifics about the project. This will be the followup to his double platinum-selling 2017 debut, This One’s For You.

With just one album under his belt, Luke has managed to make music history multiple times and accomplish several goals along the way, including headlining his own sold-out arena tour and becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. None of these feats mean nearly as much if he didn’t have those nearest and dearest to share it with. [“I think sharing those moments with people are the things that really resonate with me. It’s not me being in that moment or me being the person that’s on stage. It’s getting to have my grandmother there for those experiences or getting to have my management team there or my friends there or people that I went to college with. Like, getting to do all of those things with those people has been the best part of it for me, because if I didn’t have anyone to share these moments with they wouldn’t be nearly as special as they are to me now.”]

FAST FACTS

This One’s For You is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for the 44th non-consecutive week.

It’s the longest reign ever for a male artist and second longest for an artist overall following Shania Twain’s Come On Over in 1997 (50 weeks).

JUSTIN MOORE IS ‘TOO FRAGILE’ FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

Justin Moore is loving all the positive comments he’s getting from fans about his brand new album, Late Nights and Longnecks, but it’s those few negative ones that keep Justin from getting too involved in social media. He tells us he typically doesn’t read the comments on social media. [“I don’t. I used to and it would drive me crazy because there’d be a hundred positive ones and then one bad one, and then it just sends me into a tailspin. I’m too fragile for that, I guess. So I really don’t, and the other aspect of that is I’m hopeful that every single person loves my music, which I know is not a possibility. So, that being said, I don’t really make music for anybody other than myself. I’m hopeful that fans can relate to it but I just kinda always make albums for me and kind of let the chips fall where they may. But if I were to start reading critics and all that stuff it would drive me nuts.”]
