If you thought you’ve been on a bad first date– it likely doesn’t compare to this. An unidentified woman was on a date with a man she met on a dating website. The two first visited a Denny’s in Palm Coast, and then police tried to pull the man over for a minor traffic violation.

The driver took off, and police eventually used stop sticks to disable the car. Once the car stopped the driver took off on foot. Police are still searching for the suspect.

GOOD NEWS

We always talk about how we’d help our family out if we ever won a big lottery jackpot.  Now a guy in England actually gets to do it . . .

24-year-old Dean Weymes recently won $12,000 a month for 30 years.  That’s just under $150,000 a year, before taxes.  (And over 30 years, it’s more than $4.3 million.)

So he quit his job at an Amazon distribution center the next day.  And when he told HR why he was quitting, they thought it was a joke.

Now he’s planning to pursue a career in screenwriting, which he went to college for.  But he’s also using the money to help his family.

His 23-year-old brother has a severe form of autism that’s, quote, “about as serious as it gets.”  And up until now, their parents have had to do everything for him.  But they’re getting closer to retirement age.

So Dean is planning to use a nice chunk of his monthly income to help care for him.  And now that he doesn’t have to work, he can spend more time with him too.

LIVING IN C-K

When it comes to Canada’s best communities, Chatham-Kent is among the top third after being ranked 126th of 416 areas across the country.

MacLean’s magazine ranks hundreds of Canadian communities and compares them in 10 different categories, which include affordability, growth, crime, culture, weather, wealth and economy, population growth, taxes, commute, health care, and amenities.

According to the magazine’s top 25 list of best communities in Canada for 2019, the top three are all in Ontario and include Burlington, Grimsby, and Ottawa.

Nearby communities such as Tecumseh and LaSalle made it into the top 20 rankings.

In terms of weather, Chatham-Kent ranked eighth-best in Canada.

The magazine issue also recognized the municipality as the 60th best community in which to retire.

While housing prices in Chatham-Kent continue to soar as limited listings create a competitive environment, this area is still considered 63rd best in Canada for affordable real estate.

Tecumseh and LaSalle both ranked high in this category as well. Tecumseh is considered the third-best community in Canada for affordable real estate and LaSalle is ranked seventh.

A New Study Figured Out How Much of the Stuff You Worry About Comes True

Researchers at Penn State University wanted to figure out how much of the stuff we worry about is actually WORTH worrying about.

So they asked 29 people with Generalized Anxiety Disorder to keep a journal of everything they worried about for 10 days.  And then after three weeks they checked on how many of those worries came true.

The result?  91.4% of the stuff people worried about didn’t come true . . . only 8.6% did.  In other words, less than one in 10 things you worry about is probably worth worrying about.

And there’s more.  The most common percentage of worries that came true for people in the study was . . . 0%.  So while some people in the study did have worries come true, a lot of them didn’t have a SINGLE bad thing actually happen.

DIERKS BENTLEY SHARES OFFICIAL SEVEN PEAKS FESTIVAL LINEUP

Dierks Bentley has revealed the official lineup for his upcoming Seven Peaks Festival, taking place in Buena Vista, Colorado from August 30th – September 1st (Labor Day Weekend). He will be joined by Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, Maren Morris, Caylee Hammack, Clare Dunn, Mitchell Tenpenny, Tenille Townes, and Ryan Hurd during the three-day event.

Dierks tells us that he hand-picked these acts because when it’s your event, you can do whatever you want. [“Saturday night is headlined by Luke Bryan, which is great. And Maren Morris, which we’ve collaborated a bunch together and I love her to death. Mitchell Tenpenny’s there, Ryan Hurd, and a new artist Caylee Hammack who I’m just a huge fan of. And then Sunday it’s us with Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes. She’s like my favorite singer at all right now. She’s so good and such a great hang. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, which’ll be killer . . . It’s all for me, really. It’s just people I love listening to. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”]

LUKE COMBS HAVING HARD TIME ADJUSTING TO FAME

Luke Combs went from zero to 100 with the release of his first chart-topping single, “Hurricane,” back in 2016. He followed that up with five more consecutive Number One hits, setting all kinds of musical records in the process. Luke’s in the midst of his sold-out headlining Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour, and while he’s loving the way fans have embraced him and his music, he tells us he still struggles with being famous. [“The hardest part has definitely been getting used to the fame part of it. I didn’t love to go out to the bars or I didn’t love to do this or that. I just loved writing songs and I loved playing those songs for people who loved to hear ’em, so definitely coping with the fame has been the hardest part but definitely the positives outweigh the negatives a thousand times over.”]

Luke will release his yet-untitled sophomore album on November 8th.

In June, he released a five-song EP called The Prequel, his first new music since his 2017 debut album, The One’s For You.
