Kevin Hart is expected to fully recover after sustaining back injuries in a car accident. A police report says the 40-year-old comedian was a passenger in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that went off Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Hart and the driver, 28-year-old Jared Black, both suffered “major back injuries” and were taken to hospital. Another passenger, a 31-year-old female, did not require hospitalization. Hart had taken to social media on Saturday to post a video of himself driving the classic car, as someone yelled at him for laying down too much rubber on the street as he spun out his tires.

A Florida woman looked out her window to see a man looking into her car and around her property and drinking her coffee that she had left on her patio.  She went out and confronted him and he said, “I’m just cutting through because I have been running red lights all morning.”  She told him to leave, and he did, but he took her mug with him, which she had purchased the day her husband proposed to her.

A New Hampshire mom is fighting with the state Department of Motor Vehicles to keep her 15-year-old vanity license plate reading “PB4WEGO.” The Huntington Post reports Wendy Auger of Rochester has been asked to surrender the unique plate– the state says phrases related to excretory acts aren’t permitted. Auger is one of 92 New Hampshire drivers who received vanity plate recall letters this year, and she says she plans to appeal.

Stressed about Your Kids Starting School? 63 Percent of Moms Feel the Same

The end of August is often the beginning of something else for some parents: an increased feeling of anxiety.

If you’re a mom who’s experiencing a little extra stress at the beginning of a new school year, you’re not alone. In fact, your feeling is more common than you may think — especially if your kids are younger.

A new survey found that when all members of the family are polled, 63 percent say it’s Mom who has the hardest time with the first day of school. That’s compared to only 27 percent who identified the child as being the one who struggles most. This isn’t at all surprising according to Michele Levin, a family therapist and co-owner of Blueprint Mental Health. “It’s normal for parents to have a tough time transitioning themselves when their kids begin kindergarten. For a lot of families, this is the first time experiencing losing some control.”

American Academy of Pediatrics spokesperson Dr. Sara Bode suggests that Moms who may be stressed during the first days of school spend some time thinking about what the root cause of their anxiety is and what they can do to soothe it. “Maybe that means reaching out and asking to meet the teacher or administrators ahead of time to discuss concerns so that you can feel as though you’re doing something proactive,” Bode said.

RANDOM REPORT

✓ Teachers originally did not want pencils to have erasers because it was believed it would encourage children to make mistakes.

✓ The biggest school in the world is in Lucknow, India, with more than 32,000 students

✓ Before the school calendar became national, students in rural areas of the US went from December to March and May to August so kids could be home for spring planting and fall harvesting.  In urban centers, kids were given the hot summer off to prevent the spread of disease.

✓ In Chile, students are given 12 weeks off from mid-December to early March.  German children?  Just 6 weeks.

GOOD NEWS

This video is crazy because of just how close the dude came to death.

Some drunk guy was at a train station in Sydney, Australia the other night, and was feeling sick.

So he walked to the edge of the platform and started ralphing right onto the tracks.  And he didn’t realize a TRAIN was coming.

He was hammered, and also had headphones on.  So he didn’t see the train, and didn’t hear it either.

But luckily a random guy ran over and pulled him back JUST in time.  If he’d gotten there a half-second later, the 450-ton train would have nailed the guy’s HEAD.

The guy was still feeling sick.  So then he walked to the other side of the platform and did the same thing AGAIN.  But the guy who saved him the first time made him sit down on a bench before another train came.

Kieren Foley is the guy who pulled him back.  He says he’s just glad he was in the right place at the right time.

YOU CANT’ MAKE THIS UP……………
➢ A man is wanted by Toronto police after he allegedly broke into a property and left behind a photocopy of his face. Police say that on Friday, a man entered a commercial establishment and ate some food items, leaving behind scraps. He then took a photocopy of his face and left it on site before fleeing.

➢ Police in Kennewick, Wash., say a man called them early Sunday morning to report his truck stolen. Here’s the thing, though: The caller was allegedly committing theft himself. Cops checked surveillance video which shows a man putting his bicycle in the truck’s bed and driving off. But what the truck’s owner didn’t plan on was this: The video also shows him allegedly “in the act of stealing items from a business across the street.” He was arrested for burglary.

➢ A wedding guest is being criticized for RSVP’ing to a couple’s wedding.  Why? She indicated to the happy couple that she and her partner would be able to attend the wedding…and, oh, yeah, and they would be bringing along 21 extra people. This despite the fact that the invitation specified that she was permitted one guest. The invitation was returned by post, and the shocked bride-to-be took a photo of their requests and shared it online.

The survey of 400 office workers was done for the staffing firm Accountemps.

CELLPHONES IN CLASS

Restrictions for when Ontario students can use their cellphones in the classroom will come into effect two months after the start of the new school year.

The provincial government announced that, as of November 4, students will not be allowed to use cellphones or other personal mobile devices during instructional time at school.

“When in class, students should be focused on their studies, not their social media,” Minister of Education Stephen Lecce said in a statement. “That’s why we are restricting cellphones and other personal mobile devices in the classroom, while making sure technology is available to help students achieve success in the digital economy and modern workforce.”

An exception to the cellphone ban is being made for students who require their device for health and medical purposes, to support special education needs, or for educational purposes permitted by the teacher.

Parents, students, and teachers who participated in education reform consultations last fall were 97 per cent in favour of cellphones being restricted in some way, according to the provincial government.

Businesses Get More Calls Today Than Any Other Day of the Year

Summer’s over, so are you planning to take care of the stuff you’ve been procrastinating on, like finally sitting on the phone for three hours with Verizon to fix problems with your bill?

Maybe budget four hours instead.

Apparently today is known as “Telephone Tuesday” . . . because businesses get more calls on the day after Labor Day than any other day of the year.

Why?  The advertising analytics firm that figured it out says it’s probably because of a few factors.

Summer is over and people are back to work today . . . and finally ready to take care of the business they’ve been procrastinating on all summer.

Plus, this is when the end of the year starts to feel like it’s in sight, so people finally want to cross off some stuff that’s been on their to-do lists for months.

Carrie Underwood Is Teasing Her New “Sunday Night Football” Theme

We’re just a few days away from the start of the NFL season, and Carrie is going back to doing “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night”, which was used as the intro song from 2006 to 2015.

The song was inspired by Joan’s “I hate myself for loving you” . . . and that’s how Joan got involved this year.

Carrie posted a clip from the intro, and captioned it, quote, “Tune in September 8th!”  That’s the first Sunday night game, and it’ll feature the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots.

It was probably smart to go back to “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night”.  In 2016, Carrie changed things up with a new song called “Oh Sunday Night”, which was a riff on her hit “Somethin’ Bad” with Miranda Lambert.  That went over okay . . .

But last year, she changed it up again with “Game On.  And that one was ROASTED on the Internet, even though it wasn’t THAT bad.

KANE BROWN’S ‘TWITTER’ RESPONSE STIRS UP FANS

Immediately following the announcement of CMA nominations, Kane Brown took to Twitter, and with no words stirred up a controversy. He posted a GIF of pro basketball player, Stephen Curry shaking his head in disbelief. Believing that he was responding to not getting nominated, his followers immediately chimed in. One posted back to Kane, “Are you literally 8 years old?” Kane replied, “I’m 9.”

Another posted, “Drop the entitlement attitude.” And some of his Twitter followers were supportive and agreed with him.

Kane closed down his account following the comments, but it was reactivated over the weekend.

FAST FACTS

Kane Brown posted this: “So my management team will be running my Twitter and Facebook from now on so I can focus on music and my family and stay off my phone. It’s taking over my life lol so Instagram will be the only thing u can get ahold of me on at least until the next album.”

This isn’t the first time Brown has deleted a social media account. In April 2018, he and then-fiancée Katelyn Jae deleted Instagram. The profile returned not long after that interview with Chicago radio station Big 95.5, and he now has more than two million followers.

MIRANDA LAMBERT PUTS AN END TO BOUNCING BEACHBALL

Memo to Miranda Lambert fans — do not bring a beach ball to bounce around in the crowd at her concerts! She proved how much she hates those bouncing beachballs during her show on Saturday (August 31st) in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The ball met its demise when it got close to the stage and she quickly popped it with a what looks like a knife which was ready and waiting on the drum riser.

Miranda told the crowd, “I love y’all but we’re not at the damn beach. We’re singing country music tonight.”

A video of the incident has been making the rounds on social media.

FAST FACTS

Miranda is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards, taking place on November 13th in Nashville.

Her new album, Wildcard, will be released on November 1st.
