A woman in San Diego named Jenna Evans had a dream last week that she had to swallow her engagement ring, so that, quote, “bad guys” wouldn’t get it.  Then she woke up and realized she’d actually swallowed the ring in her sleep.  Her doctors were able to remove it, and she says she’s very glad that was the case.  Because she didn’t want to pass it THEN find it.

TODAY IS……………….

  • “Punch Day”, the word ‘punch’ is said to come from the Hindustani word ‘panch’, which means ‘five’. In the early 1600s, sailors and employees of the British East India Company brought a new exotic drink from India to England. The beverage was made with five ingredients—spirits, lemon, sugar, water, and tea.

  • “Pepperoni Pizza Day”, a day to celebrate America’s favorite variety of pizza. Here is some interesting trivia on the ever-popular pizza:

GOOD NEWS

Swimming across the English Channel is impressive.  That said, almost 2,000 people have done it since the first guy in 1875.  But only one person has done THIS.  And it’s a woman. . .

37-year-old Sarah Thomas is an endurance athlete from Colorado who recently beat breast cancer.

And this week, she became the first person to swim across the English Channel FOUR TIMES, back to back.

She swam 130 miles in 54 hours . . . from England to France . . . then back to England . . . back to France . . . and back to England again.

She got stung in the face by a JELLYFISH along the way.  But she just kept going, then celebrated on the beach with champagne and M&M’s.

Sarah had to stop swimming back when she was going through cancer treatments.  And her doctors said she’d never return to peak form again.  So she proved them wrong.

She says there were moments during her swim when she thought about stopping.  But she just kept telling herself “don’t give up.”

(GET) BACK TO SCHOOL:
Yes, everyone loves summer vacation. The kids are home, lots of family activities, and lazy days in the sun…and that’s great, sure, but it seems many parents wish there weren’t so many of them.

A survey found that 67% of parents think their children’s summer vacation is too long. The study of 2,000 parents with school-aged children found that by the time summer ends, 57% are pining for a weekend alone without the kids.

And if you’re still having trouble getting everyone up and out the door on time these days, you’re not alone: The survey also found that almost half of parents (49%) say it takes two to three weeks for the school routine to feel “normal” again.
Other findings of the survey

  • 79% say they get more alone time with their partner when the kids return to school.
    • 55% of parents love to watch a TV show or movie that they can’t when the children are around.

The Area 51 Raid Was Supposed to Go Down at 3:00 A.M. This Morning

Yes, the viral story that was a joke then not a joke then a joke again then a music festival then nothing then maybe a smaller music festival was scheduled for 3:00 A.M. today.

I’m sure if anything really did go down, we’ll hear the reports soon enough.  Unless the government doesn’t WANT us to.

Then we’ll have to raid Area 51 to get the classified files about the raid of Area 51.

Tour Bus Crash Claimed the Life of Josh Turner’s Longtime Sound Man

A tour bus carrying JOSH TURNER’s road crew crashed on Wednesday after the show in Paso Robles, California.  Seven people were injured, and Josh’s longtime sound man David Turner was killed.  He was 64.  They’re not related.

Josh and his band were in a separate bus and weren’t injured.  The investigation is still ongoing, but here’s what we know.  For some reason, the bus left the road at around 11:30 P.M. and drove 20 yards before falling off a cliff.

The California Highway Patrol has ruled out drugs or alcohol, and the bus is being checked out to see if there were any mechanical issues.  They’re also looking into whether the driver may have suffered a medical problem that could have caused it.

All of Josh’s September shows have been canceled and will be rescheduled.

BLAKE SHELTON GOES TO BAT FOR CRAIG MORGAN SONG, PUSHES IT TO NUMBER ONE

Blake Shelton has been championing Craig Morgan’s brand new single, “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost,” and his frequent social media endorsements have paid off big time — the song topped the all-genre iTunes songs chart yesterday!

He reached out to such superstar friends as Ellen DeGeneres, Hoda Kotb, Gwen Stefani, and Carson Daly to tweet about the song and encourage people to move it up the iTunes chart, and clearly it worked.

[“If you know the story behind the song — if you don’t know it, look up Craig Morgan. All you gotta do is Google Craig Morgan’s son and you’ll see the horrible stories come up out there on the Internet, I’m sure. It was a terrible accident and Craig lost his son, but he wrote a song, and it’s been a few years now since he lost his son but he finally wrote and song and recorded it. It will literally change your day. It’s that powerful. Do it.”]

Craig responded to the news of his chart-topping hit on social media writing, “Wow! I’m so completely humbled by all the support the world has shown this song. Blake Shelton. You are an awesome friend and champion for country music.

JUSTIN MOORE CELEBRATES MILESTONE INDUSTRY ANNIVERSARIES

Justin Moore just celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the release of his self-titled album, and 2019 also marks the 12-year anniversary of his signing his currenty record deal.

Justin tells us he’s grateful for the success that has allowed him to still be enjoying hit singles and headlining tours. [“It’s exciting to still be around, much less be enjoying the success that we’ve been continuing to enjoy over the years.  Ten years is a huge milestone from album one to now. We come out with a group of artists, the class of whatever, and unfortunately I don’t see a whole lot of those guys any longer, and gals. And it truly makes me feel even more blessed.  And certainly there have been ups and downs over the years. But to have the opportunity to still be making music and making a living doing it is emotional. It’s exciting. I feel so fortunate and it’s certainly a blessing.”]
