Oprah just got over a bad case of pneumonia . . . and it was pretty serious. Her doctor tried to treat it with antibiotics first, but they weren’t really working. So they sent her to a lung specialist. She said, quote, “He puts his stethoscope here and I see the ‘Oh, [poop]’ face'”. So he prescribed a new course of antibiotics and an inhaler, and that did the trick. When she went back to see him, he was PSYCHED that it worked. (From “Ellen” on Monday, September 23, 2019)

GOOD NEWS
A 24-year-old bride from Georgia named Rikki Kahley planned her bachelorette party trip to the Bahamas months ago. Then Hurricane Dorian hit.
The resort she booked wasn’t actually affected by the storm. So the trip was still on. But Rikki realized it was also a chance to help hurricane victims.
So she and friends got on social media and asked people to donate stuff . . . everything from canned food to clothing.
Then when they flew to the Bahamas last week, they brought along FORTY SUITCASES of
stuff. And Delta waived the extra baggage fees.
Rikki says the whole thing was her 17-year-old sister’s idea. And her bridesmaids immediately got on board with it.
They ended up with way more stuff than they could take. So they’re shipping the rest. And people also donated about $1,800 to help out.

Woman Posted Her In-Law’s Insane List of Complaints During a Visit
Do you have that friend who has to complain about EVERYTHING? A woman in the U.K. recently had to deal with her husband’s brother when he stayed with them for three days. And he complained the whole time, like it was a hotel or something.
She wrote down TWENTY-FOUR complaints he made, and posted them online. She’s also going to leave the list out the next time he visits to shame him into shutting up. Here are the 15 craziest complaints he made . . .
- Their front gate was too squeaky.
- The towels they gave him were white, and he doesn’t like white towels.
- They gave him a choice of three blankets, and none of them were good enough.
- The gates on their stairs to keep their kids safe were, quote, “really inconvenient.”
- They had a bunch of spare clothes in his size, but he didn’t like the selection.
- Amazon Prime Video didn’t have the new Quentin Tarantinomovie yet. So he said it was a waste of money.
- Someone used the bathroom in the middle of the night, and he heard the toilet flush.
- He complained that the woman was using her asthma inhaler too much.
- The planes overhead were flying too low.
- The house had too many rugs.
- They didn’t have enough music on vinyl.
- The local swimming pool they belonged to wasn’t open late enough.
- He could hear traffic in the distance when he was in their backyard.
- He had to move the seat when he borrowed their car, because they hadn’t set it up for him ahead of time. (???) And he didn’t like the preset stations on their radio.
- The dogs wouldn’t cuddle with him.

ODD ODDS:
A new poll shows that millennials have unrealistic expectations when they purchase lottery tickets.
Research Co. found in a survey of 800 adults that millennials are more hopeful than older lottery players when it comes to the idea that they might strike it rich. According to the poll, just 24 per cent of those aged 18-to-34 do not believe they will win a prize. It seems the older you are, the lower your expectation of winning is.
40 per cent of those aged 35-to-54 don’t expect to win a thing, and 50 per cent of those 55 or over don’t expect to be cashing in. In spite of all that, 58 per cent of us say we’ve bought a lottery ticket in the past year.

A Study Finds It’s Better to Hunt for an Amazing Parking Spot Than Just Take the First One You See
When you pull into a parking lot, what’s your strategy for finding a spot? A new study found there are really three approaches people take . . . and the worst one might NOT be what you think. Here are the three approaches . . .
- People who drive right up to where they’re going, hoping they’ll find an amazing spot right in front.
- People who do the opposite, and just grab the first spot they see, no matter how far away it is, and walk.
- And people who split the difference. They might not grab a terrible spot at the back of the parking lot . . . but they also don’t try to get an incredible spot. They’ll grab one that’s in the middle.
Well . . . the researchers found that the people who split the difference ultimately waste the least amount of time. But, believe it or not, people who go for dream spots have the second-most efficient strategy. Even though they might get denied when they go to the front of the lot, on average, they get where they’re going faster than people who grab a far spot and walk.
So . . . it’s better to hunt for an amazing parking spot than just take the first one you see and walk. Over your life, you’ll save more time that way.

Should Couples Go to Bed at the Same Time?
Many couples don’t go to bed at the same time. Some people are night owls who thrive at night and some are morning people who are most energetic in the morning, and it is those preferences that most determine a couples co-sleeping patterns, also known as dyadic sleep patterns.
How synced a couples bedtime is can have a significant impact on their relationship but contrary to common assumptions, these affects can be both negative and positive and are often a mix of both.
On the pro side of syncing sleep times, some people simply love to fall asleep while in an embrace because they find it physically comforting. To others, having the same sleep time represents their relationship being in a good place. Being in the bed alone makes them feel anxious because they associate their partners absence as a sign of conflict or avoidance, reflecting relationship tension.
Having separate sleep times can have other advantages: Some people value their alone time and being up when their partner is sleeping is their only way of getting it, and couples with younger children can rotate child care in order to divide parenting responsibilities more equally.

LADY ANTEBELLUM’S KIDS ARE GRAVITATING TOWARDS MUSIC, DOG WASHING
Between the three members of Lady Antebellum they have six kids, and a few of them have already started expressing an interest in different careers. For now, it looks like Charles Kelley might be raising a little musician, while Hillary Scott‘s daughter is all about keeping dogs clean.
Hillary, Charles and Dave Haywood tell us: [“I’ll never forget, we were in tour rehearsals last summer, and Ward ended up with a little, like toy guitar, and would not get off the stage. Like, he wanted to perform. (Charles) Well, when you ask him now what does he want to do when he grows up he says, “be a singer” and I don’t know if he really knows what that means. (laugh, aww) And he’s like, ‘Be a singer like Daddy.’ (Hillary) My oldest, Eisele, wants to be a dog washer. I’m like, ‘A groomer?’ She goes, ‘No, a dog washer.’ (Dave) Just the washing part. (Hillary) I’m like okay cool. I’ll ask you again next week, it’ll be something different.”]
Lady Antebellum will soon be releasing details about their new album, which will be released before the end of the year. It features their current hit single, “What If I Never Get Over you.”
DUSTIN LYNCH RETURNS TO OPRY TONIGHT TO PERFORM
Dustin Lynch will take a break from the Very Hot Summer Tour with headliner Thomas Rhett to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville tonight (Tuesday, September 24th). Dustin recently celebrated his one-year anniversary since becoming an Opry member, and in addition to just being honored to play the venue, he tells us it’s always a special time because he shares it with his family. [“It’s a magical place. It’s my favorite stage to play because everytime I get to play I get to see my parents and friends that are from back home. They come up and hang out, so we make it a family affair and get to see them and eat dinner and make it kind of a whole evening. It brings my family together so that’s a really cool thing. I think it’s probably pretty unique to the artists that get to play.”]
Dustin shares the Opry bill tonight with Craig Morgan and Sawyer Brown, among others.
He continues climbing the charts with his latest single, “Ridin’ Roads.”
FAST FACTS
Dustin officially became a member of the Grand Ole Opry on September 18, 2018.
Get Ready for the Brad Paisley Variety Special, on ABC
Here’s a thought: Maybe it was BRAD PAISLEY’s idea to have other people co-host this year’s CMAs with CARRIE UNDERWOOD. Why is that, you ask? Well, he’s HOSTING a one-hour TV special later this season on ABC.
It’s called “Brad Paisley Thinks He’s Special” and it’ll have musical performances, surprises . . . and something they’re calling “heartfelt field pieces.” It sounds like an old-fashioned variety show to me . . . especially when you consider his A-list guests.
Check this out. He’ll be joined by Hootie & The Blowfish, Tim McGraw, the Jonas Brothers, Kelsea Ballerini, Peyton Manning, “The Bachelor’s” Chris Harrison, and even Carrie Underwood herself. (I guess they’re still tight.)
Here’s Brad’s “funny” statement. Quote, “Wait, I thought it was called the Brad Paisley Special. Who added the ‘Thinks He’s’? Oh well, I’m still psyched.”
If you add this to Brad’s comedy series that he’s developing for Amazon, it’s not a stretch to think that he’s decided to move on from the CMAs.
