There’s a bar in the Florida Keys called Siesta Key Oyster Bar that’s famous for letting people paper the walls with $1 bills.  But they recently pulled them all down and donated close to $14,000 to help Hurricane Dorian victims in the Bahamas.  The employees say taking all the bills down was an even bigger project than they expected.

After an uproar, travel site TripAdvisor temporarily suspended new reviews from being posted on the restaurants profile page, while the owner insisted that the menu prices are.

In a post that has since gone viral, negative reviews soon flooded their TripAdvisor page, The restaurant owner says that the establishment was not misleading in its pricing and that her order cost as much as it did due to the type of fish she ordered.

GET CRACKING:
Researchers say that eggs just might be the ideal breakfast food for weight loss.

A few recent studies found that people who eat eggs for breakfast can drop as much as 65% more weight over eight weeks. And another study suggests that eggs can stabilize blood sugar and suppress hunger, too.

Alyssa Pike, Manager of Nutrition Communications for the International Food Information Council, says that we should focus on high-protein and fibre foods for breakfast because they can help you feel full longer. She says a good example of this would be egg and avocado or egg on whole-wheat bread.

The feeling of fullness you get from a breakfast like that helps cut down on grazing during the day.

GOOD NEWS

A woman near Dallas named Nicole Hornback was out watching a parade with her kids last month when her two-year-old son started choking.  And she had no idea what to do.

She tried giving him the Heimlich.  But she didn’t know how to do it on a little kid.  So it didn’t work.

But luckily, a 17-year-old cheerleader named Tyra Winters happened to spot them from a parade float she was on.  And she knew what to do, because she wants to be a pediatric surgeon someday and took CPR classes in eighth grade.

So she jumped off the float . . . grabbed the kid . . . tipped him forward on his stomach . . . hit him on the back a few times . . . and saved his life.

Once he was breathing again, she handed him back to his mom . . . ran off like it was no big deal . . . and jumped back on the float, so she didn’t miss her ride.

Nicole didn’t even get Tyra’s name.  But she posted about it on Facebook.  Then someone from Tyra’s school saw it.  And Nicole recently met up with her to say thank you in person.

Surprising Number of People Say They’ve Dumped Someone Over Chores . .

HERE’S how much we hate doing chores:  We’d rather DIE ALONE than live with someone who doesn’t do their share of the dishes.

According to a new survey, one in THREE Americans say they’ve ended a relationship over chores and cleaning.

The survey also found the 10 messy things that our significant others and family members do that annoy us the most.  And they are . . .

Leaving dishes in the sink . . . leaving the toilet seat up . . . leaving cabinet drawers open . . . leaving the fridge door open . . . leaving caps off things in the fridge . . .

Leaving cups and dishes around the house . . . leaving the lights on when they leave a room . . . not closing bags of potato chips . . . letting the garbage can overflow . . . and leaving shoes in the doorway.

And finally, the survey found the average person cleans something two times a week that someone else already cleaned.

WHY MEN FIND IT HARD TO MAKE FRIENDS

Men have a harder time making friends than women do.

A recent poll from YouGov found 20 percent of men admitted to having no close friends and 32 percent claimed to have no one they counted as a best friend. Just 12 percent of women said they did not have close friends, and 24 percent said they did not have a best friend.

Part of the reason men are lonelier could be that they’re not as good as communicating as women are– particularly online. Dr. Diana Gall says, “Some research suggests that heavy reliance on online socializing may actually be a problem for men and contributing to the rise in loneliness.”

Other experts note that with increasing pressure at work and at home, men have a difficult time maintaining friendships, and even if they can maintain them, many male friendships center around competitiveness, and not emotional support.

Indiana Heist  – 50,000 Apples
In Indiana thieves somehow managed to remove 50,000 apples from Williams Orchards without anyone noticing. Owner Jon Drummond stated that the apples had managed to vanish in a period of only a few days.

The fleeced area was located in the back of the 135-acre orchard, and had been bountiful last week. While out surveying their land, Drummond noticed over a full acre of trees were missing their fruit.

There weren’t any apples to be found on the ground of the crime scene, leading Drummond and investigators to believe that the thieves covered the area in tarps, violently shook the trees so the apples would fall off of them, then cinched up the tarps and made their getaway.

Additionally, 50,000 apples is a lot of apples, so how they managed to get away with this haul without anyone noticing is rather incredible. The local sheriff is currently on the lookout for suspects who may own a pickup truck or trailer, which shouldn’t be hard to find in that corner of Indiana.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD ON CO-HOSTING CMA AWARDS WITH DOLLY, REBA

This year, when Carrie Underwood steps on stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to host the 53rd Annual CMA Awards, she will be joined by special guest hosts and Country Music Hall of Fame members Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. The three icons will be celebrating legendary women in Country Music throughout the ceremony, and as Carrie tells us, she’ll be in the perfect company to do just that. [“My special guest hosts are Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. It does not get bigger than that or better than that. I feel like the three of us love what we do so much, and we love country music and it means something I feel like to have us up there on that stage kind of driving the bus for the evening and setting the tone and shine a lot on what I think is the backbone of country music and that’s the females that have come before all of us and will come in the future.”]

This year’s CMA Awards will broadcast live from Nashville on November 13th at 8pm ET on ABC.
