On Today’s Show
November 18, 2019 9:35 amSome hunters in Canada recorded audio of what sounds like some sort of animal screaming from deep in the woods, and some people think it’s Bigfoot.
Gino Meekis lives near Sioux Lookout in northern Ontario and at first he thought it was a moose or a bear. “But then I started thinking of all the animals in the area — I’d heard during my life — and it didn’t match,” he said.
None of his hunter friends have been able to put their finger on it either.
And if you’re looking for answers from the government, the M.N.R. guess is no better than anyone else’s. “Our biologists say it could be a larger mammal – for example a wolf – but because of a considerable distance from the recorder there is no way to be certain,”

There’s a Vietnam War action movie in development called “Finding Jack” . . . and it’s going to star JAMES DEAN….. yes THAT James Dean who died in 1955 at the age of 24.
He’ll appear via “full body CGI” and archival footage . . . and the movie got permission from his family to use his image. Another actor will provide his voice. Pre-production starts later this month, and they’re aiming for a worldwide release on Veterans Day next year.
This is already causing outrage in Hollywood. CHRIS EVANS and ELIJAH WOOD are among those speaking out against it.

GOOD NEWS
Thanksgiving is all about the food for most of us. But that means something a little different for these kids . . .
Nine-year-old Alex Fischer and her six-year-old sister Caroline live in Charlotte, North Carolina. And for the past few years, they’ve been raising money to pay for OTHER families’ Thanksgiving dinners.
Two years ago, their mom wanted to donate a single box of Thanksgiving supplies to a local mission that hands out food to families in need. Each kit includes things like stuffing, green beans, and stuff to make an apple pie.
But Alex said one box wasn’t enough, and wanted to donate ten. Then last year, they upped their goal . . . raised a bunch of money online . . . and donated 130 boxes of stuff, along with 50 frozen turkeys.
This year, they’ve upped their goal again to include a turkey with every box. And last we heard, they were up to 108 FULL Thanksgiving meals, with a few weeks to spare. They raised some of the money selling lemonade, and the rest online.
Obviously it’s a lot of work, and their mom helps. She says she never expected it to get this big. But she hopes they’ll keep doing it for years to come.

Half of People Listen to Music While They Work and It Actually Makes Them More Efficient
Go ahead and slap on your headphones at work. You’ll block out all the nonsense from your coworkers AND get stuff done faster.
According to a new study, half of people listen to music while they work.
And it’s GOOD for their productivity. The researchers found people finished a task about three minutes faster when they were listening to music than when they weren’t.
Why? The researchers say it’s because listening to music, quote, “Affects mood and mental and physical performance . . . [and] the music can function as a sort of ‘white noise,’ canceling out potentially distracting ambient noise.”

’SNO PROBLEM:
With snow and cold temperatures already a part of life these days for many, it leads to a seemingly logical step before heading out on that morning commute: Warming up the car.
But some transport experts, including police, are discouraging drivers from this tactic, especially if they’re not in the car. York Regional Police in Ontario tweeted last week about a “warm-up theft” after a car owner had their vehicle stolen from their own driveway. Police suggest if you aren’t going to be present, you should have a second set of keys, and lock your car while it is idling.
A rep from CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) points out that warming up a car for more than 30 seconds is an outdated practice anyway. Most vehicles manufactured within the last decade heat up more efficiently while they’re being driven. Just be sure to clear off the snow and ensure your windows aren’t fogged up.
And drive gently for the first while until things start to heat up. Not only will you get to your destination sooner if you don’t spend an extra 10 minutes in the driveway, you’ll also save fuel.

TIM McGRAW’S BOOK ANSWERS MOST-ASKED QUESTIONS
Tim McGraw recently released his first health and lifestyle book called Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life. He tells us the book was a great way to share his own story of transformation and commitment, something he is frequently asked about.[“You know, I get asked a lot about my fitness journey over the years and what I do and how to stay consistent and all those things. And, it’s really hard to do that in a 5 to 10 minute interview, which is usually most the time I get to talk to someone. So, to have the opportunity to sit down and write Grit & Grace in long form, with a lot of help I might add, is something that was a great experience for me. Actually, the process of it motivated me even more. So, it was cathartic for me and motivational for me and I hope somebody gets something out of it.”]
Grit & Grace was released earlier this month.
Earlier this year, Tim opened the first in his own custom line of boutique fitness clubs, called TRUMAV Fitness, in Nashville. He is featured on the November cover of WebMD magazine.
FGL FEATURED ON NEW POP SONG WITH TAYLA PARX
Florida Georgia Line have lent their talent to another crossover collaboration, this time with pop singer Tayla Parx. The song is called “Fight,” and it’s Tayla’s first non-album single since the release of her debut album earlier this year.
Tyler Hubbard tells us that he and Brian Kelley are always open to collaborations, whether inside or outside of Country music: [“We do love to collaborate. We love making new friends, writing with people outside of our genre and just kind of seeing where it goes. So we’ve been really fortunate . . . just to be on big songs with big artists and, you know, big opportunities for us, so, it’s awesome.”]
FGL’s previous collaborations include hits with Bebe Rexha (“Meant To Be,” Backstreet Boys (“God, Your Mama, And Me”) and Tim McGraw (“May We All”).
