A guy in Regina, Saskatchewan spent over a thousand hours setting up a massive Christmas display in his front yard this year, with 36,000 lights.  And on Tuesday, some grinch drove onto his lawn and destroyed it with their truck.  Now he’s working overtime to get it all fixed, but says it should be ready by Christmas.

91% of Us Don’t Trust Other Drivers in the Winter

Almost no one trusts other people to drive well in the winter, according to a new survey.  But two-thirds of us think WE’RE pretty good at it.

91% said they don’t trust other drivers in winter weather.  And 23% have at least one family member they won’t ride with, because they don’t trust their driving skills.

Meanwhile, 64% of us think WE’RE good drivers in the winter.  90% feel very confident driving in the rain . . . 76% feel fine in snow and sleet . . . and 55% feel comfortable driving on icy roads.

So in other words, be very careful with other drivers, because we’re all a bit overconfident.

Here are three quick tips that could help you be a little safer this year . . .

  1. Check your tire pressure.  21% of people don’t know temperature affects your tire pressure, which affects traction.  As the temperature drops, it lowers your tire pressure, about one PSI for every 10 degrees.  And having enough tread is really important too.

  1. Test your battery.  Cold weather can make old batteries fail.  And that can be dangerous if you get caught out somewhere and can’t get home.

  1. Don’t use cruise control in bad weather.  30% of drivers don’t know it’s dangerous.

GOOD NEWS

A Toronto busker got the biggest payday of his life when a group of people he believed were commuters suddenly tipped him hundreds of dollars as he serenaded them at a subway station.

Mo Guzman, 26, a full-time busker for five years and was ”shocked and surprised” when people starting dropping $20, $50 and $100 dollar notes in his guitar case.

The money actually came from Toronto marketing company Zulu Alpha Kilo, which wanted to do a good deed for the holidays. When cameras arrived on November 26 to film Guzman at King subway station, officials from the TTC told him that he was being filmed for a documentary on subway buskers.

A video shows Guzman’s genuine shock as 40 Zulu Alpha Kilo employees approached and paid him some very generous tips.

Guzman told the crowd “I just recently had my daughter, she’s like three months old. Just doing my thing as a first-time dad and honestly thank you. I’m at a loss for words, I’ve never had an experience like this. I feel truly blessed,” he said.

Guzman and his partner welcomed their daughter Malia almost four months ago. He thanked the company and the TTC for the kind gesture.

JENNIFER GARNER LOST HER CAR

Jennifer Garner shared a video ― filmed by an unknown friend ― of herself wandering through a parking garage in search of her car. With a Build-A-Bear in her arms, Garner opens the video by saying she’s been looking for her car for 10 minutes and that she was certain she’d parked it in the Y section of the garage.

The car was, unfortunately, not in the Y section at all, leaving Jen and her friend to run around the garage both on foot and then later in her friend’s car in desperate search for her vehicle.

Garner says she’s sweating at one point and that they’ve hit the 25-minute mark on the search for a car in a one-level parking garage.

Finally, she finds her car in ― of all places ― the F section of the lot. “It’s so rude to just move someone’s car to F,” she quips upon realizing she completely flubbed where she’d parked.

YOU DO HAVE TIME TO EXERCISE: ADULTS HAVE FIVE HOURS OF FREE TIME DAILY, BUT CHOOSE TO STARE AT THEIR PHONES

If you think you’re too busy to work out, think again. A poll of 32,000 Americans by the Ramd Corporation finds that people have an average of 4.5 hours of free time each day, with men having a half hour more than women.

But, men spent 211 minutes of their free time looking at screens (about 3.5 hours), while women did the same for under three hours. However, men spent just 6.6 percent of their time exercising, while women spent five percent of their time exercising.

Study co-author Dr. Deborah Cohen says, “Increasing the public’s awareness of how they actually use their time and creating messages that encourage Americans to reduce their screen time may help people to become more physically active.

These findings suggest getting Americans to devote at least 20 or 30 minutes each day to physical activity is feasible.”

CHRIS YOUNG BORROWS A PAGE FROM CLARK GRISWOLD – (12/11/2019)

This time every year, Chris Young takes the liberty of turning his parents’ front yard into a Christmas wonderland, although it’s not necessarily very appreciated. Chris tells us: [“I just leave it to their yard. I still go and decorate my parents’ yard every year. My mom told me last year, she’s like, ‘It’s not the problem that you decorate our yard with so much random stuff or that it looks like the Griswold house.’ She was like, ‘It’s that you don’t come back to undecorate the front yard.’ I leave that up to my dad, so I don’t think he loves me as much after Christmas during that process but I still do that every year.”]

Chris recently got in the holiday spirit with a performance on CMA Country Christmas, which aired on ABC earlier this month.

He continues climbing the charts with “Drowning,” the latest single from his upcoming Raised On Country album. No release date has yet been announced.

Don’t Be Sad That Willie Nelson Has Quit Smoking Weed

By now you’ve heard that WILLIE NELSON has quit smoking weed because his lungs just can’t take it.  He talked about it in an interview last week.

Quote, “I’ve abused my lungs quite a bit, so breathing is more difficult these days, and I have to be careful.  I’ve mistreated myself since I was ‘this big’ and started out smoking cedar bark and went from that to cigarettes . . . and that almost killed me.”

He added, “I don’t smoke anymore.  I take better care of myself today than I did then.”

I’m guessing your first thought after hearing what Willie said was, well, there are other ways to partake.  And that’s exactly what he’ll be doing, according to his publicist.

She says quote, “Willie does what he wants when he wants regarding smoking.  There are numerous ways of consumption.”
