Someone in St. Paul, Minnesota stole a package off a woman’s porch, and left a thank-you note behind just to rub it in her face.  Luckily it was just a cell phone charger, but she wishes it was something worse that they couldn’t use.

Last Saturday organizers in Portsmouth, Ohio say over 1,400 people showed up to wrap gifts. Wrapping paper was provided by the Hallmark Channel and a Guinness World Record adjudicator was on hand to ensure all wrapped gifts followed the rules. The Guinness employee confirmed that they broke the previous record of 876 for most people wrapping gifts simultaneously.

If you haven’t seen this:  Somebody posted a video on TikTok of a simple but brilliant gift-wrapping hack for when your wrapping paper is too small for the box.

Instead of matching up the box so it’s parallel with the paper, rotate the box at a 45-degree angle, and then fold up and tape the paper by the corners.  You really have to see it to get it.

ENTERTAINMENT

Clint Eastwood was on “Ellen” and talked about his age.  He’s 89-years-old but says he doesn’t think about it . . . But he did when he was young. Sometimes when he hung out with his grandfather, who was in his 90s, he would think, “Jesus, who the [heck] would want to live this long?”

Bosses at Disney have issued a warning that the latest movie in the Star Wars franchise could trigger seizures for those with photosensitive epilepsy. The new film, “The Rise of Skywalker”, hits theaters later this month, but in a letter to cinemas in association with the Epilepsy Foundation, the studio is requesting that venues warn moviegoers about the potential risk. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in theaters TODAY.

GOOD NEWS

An older lady in Tulsa posted on Craigslist the other day looking for a surrogate family to spend Christmas with.

In the post, she said she gets lonely around the holidays, and even offered to cook and bring gifts.  Apparently, a bunch of jerks made fun of her online, so she took the ad down.

But now people want to host her.  One of them is a guy named Carson Carlock, who was the first person to post about it online.

He’s since talked to her and invited her to his family’s Christmas, but she’s not sure she wants to after all the hate she got.  He says she’s got an open invitation though, if she changes her mind.

SMART SPEAKERS

With smart speakers like Google Home and the Amazon Echo, we’re all PAYING to let tech companies into our house to listen to our conversations 24 hours a day.

And we just kinda hope they aren’t going to exploit us.

But even though we’re all suckers for these products, there’s still ONE company we’re not willing to trust in our homes:  Facebook.

Facebook created the Portal video chat device and smart speaker a little over a year ago, and it’s NOT selling.

According to one study, it makes up just 0.6% of the sales in the smart speaker category.

A MATTRESS COMPANY IS HIRING ‘SLEEP INTERNS’ WHO HAVE TO SLEEP 9 HOURS A NIGHT

This just might be the perfect job. Wakefit, an Indian company that sells mattresses and other sleep products, is looking to hire “sleep interns” so it can better understand sleep patterns.

If you land the job a mattress and fitness tracker will be sent to your home. The job lasts seven nights a week for 100 nights, and you’ll be paid about $1,400. To qualify you’ll need to have a degree in any field, be able to fall asleep within 20 minutes of getting into bed, and be able to stay in bed for at least nine hours of sleep.

You’ll also have to record and analyze your sleep patterns. The company says the ideal candidate will not log much screen time, won’t consume much caffeine, and will blissfully ignore phone notifications at night. You can apply by visiting wakefit.co/sleepintern/.

CHRISTMAS HAS DOUBLE MEANING FOR FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE’S TYLER HUBBARD

Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line says this is going to be a special Christmas for his family. He and his wife Hayley have two kids in their house for the holidays, their two-year-old daughter, Olivia and their four-month-old son, Luca. For Olivia, it’s not just Christmas. Tyler explains: [Olivia was born two days before Christmas on the twenty-third and we actually came home on Christmas Day, had a very untraditional Christmas. It was super quiet at the house. Just a really, really special day for us to get to come home with a child. And it was very surreal. So, this Christmas we’re excited. You know, she’s grown so much over the last year and gained so much personality and she’s so much fun. So, we’re going to have probably the best Christmas ever, I would say. And at this age I think we’re just gonna not try to not spoil her; just go ahead and spoil her, probably more for the sake of Hayley and I and the joy that we get in that. But yeah, that’ll be a challenge over the next few years. We’re going to try to find a healthy balance and make sure she’s appreciative of everything that she has.] S

FAST FACTS

Tyler and Hayley married July 1, 2015,

FGL is off the road until April 18. On that date, they’ll play with Kenny Chesney in Arlington, Texas.
