Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg will be the subject of a new documentary at Hulu. In August 2018, Thunberg, then a 15-year-old student, started a school strike for climate change awareness. Since then, the quiet Swedish girl on the autism spectrum has become a world-famous activist. The team behind “Greta” has been following her from her early school strike in Stockholm all the way to parliaments and massive international protests, documenting her mission to make the world understand the urgency of the climate crisis.

THEATER ROUNDUP:
➢ How would you like the chance to stream first-run movies from the comfort of your own home? Legally. With Red Carpet Entertainment, you can – but you’d better be rich. The idea for the startup, which has been called “the opposite of Netflix” was hatched by a pair of entertainment industry friends on a golf course. Although Red Carpet launched in October, the company is currently looking for 3,000 “rich” Americans who will put up $15,000 and pay up to $2,500 per movie to watch the latest theatrical releases in their homes. The company has deals with 10 major movie distributors, and with box-office sales slumping and projected to fall again next year, they say that moviemakers are happy to have a new source of revenue. Their most popular movie right now is “Ford v Ferrari,” starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon. No movie is priced below $500, and customers get to see a film twice in a 36-hour period.
➢ Going to the theater once a month might help you live longer. That’s what scientists at University College London are telling us. They tracked nearly 7,000 adults over the age of 50 for 12 years. Those who “engaged with the arts” every few months were 14% less likely to die by the end of the study. Visiting museums, theaters, art galleries more frequently – once a month – cut the risk by 31%. The scientists say that a regular trip to a theater or other place where you are exposed to artists’ works could improve mental health and encourage physical activity.

GOOD NEWS
15-year-old Hannah Rountree lives in Roseburg, Oregon, about 150 miles south of Portland. And she recently decided to donate some of her time by volunteering at a local animal shelter.
The shelter is called Saving Grace Pet Adoption. And on her second day, she noticed a cat that looked kind of familiar . . . because it was HER cat that went missing several YEARS ago.
His name is Spunky. He ran off while her family was away on a trip three years ago, and they searched for months but couldn’t find him. So they eventually gave up.
It turned out someone found him on the side of a highway, and brought him to the shelter this past September. Then a couple came in and adopted him a few weeks later. But they brought him back, because he refused to catch mice.
Now he’s back with Hannah and her family, and she says he’s already settled in, like he never even left. She says the whole thing was so crazy, it just felt like fate.

HEALTH MYTHS THAT WERE DEBUNKED IN 2019:
➢ Hand sanitizer isn’t effective: A study found that offices that carried hand sanitizer had 23.4% fewer health care claims then those who don’t. Though washing with soap and water helps, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer can lessen your chances of getting sick.
➢ You should take multivitamins daily: A study found that taking vitamins might actually be harmful. Some vitamins are associated with health risks in high doses. It’s a safer bet to get specific vitamins or minerals based on what your diet is lacking.
➢ Apple cider vinegar helps with weight loss: Yes, it can boost digestion and manage your cholesterol and blood sugar, but it probably won’t help you drop any pounds.
➢ Activated charcoal is good for just about anything: While it can be beneficial in the case of an overdose, there is no evidence that it is useful as a detoxifying agent in any other situation
➢ Sugar makes kids hyperactive: A study showed that though some kids might be more sensitive to blood sugar spikes than others, sugar doesn’t directly affect behavior or cognitive performance in children.

There Are Three Ages Where Your Body Gets Older: 34, 60, and 78
There’s a point in your 30s where you realize your body doesn’t handle things like jumping, running, sleeping, digesting and burning off unhealthy foods, and recovering from hangovers like it used to.
And now scientists have figured out when and why that happens.
A new study found that our bodies don’t really age gradually . . . the researchers found there are really three ages where our bodies make a big shift to their next, older stage.
And those ages are: 34 . . . 60 . . . and 78.
The researchers have also tied those big aging jumps to the protein levels in our blood. So their next mission is . . . figuring out if there’s a way to use that knowledge to counteract and slow down the aging process.

And so, I think it’s going to be a good hang, a good vibe and I actually think we’re going to learn a lot on that tour. We just look up to her as a writer and artist and she really is an inspiration to a lot of young artists out there. So, we’re looking forward to being on the road with her.]

INGRID ANDRESS’ ‘MORE HEARTS THAN MINE’ IS A TRUE STORY
Ingrid Andress has her very first Top 20 hit on the country charts with “More Hearts Than Mine,” a song she wrote about her experience of introducing a former boyfriend to her family. Ingrid tells us she only brought one guy home ever, and that was when she was in college, and she learned a big lesson about her sweet family and got the idea for this song at the same time. [“I haven’t done it since then because I realized then that they want to love whoever I love and they would still ask about him years after we broke up and I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, please stop (laughs),’ so I think that kind of has always been in the back of my mind cause it’s just such a big deal tome. Like, it’s such a big family and we’re all so close so I just more wrote it to let whoever has the privilege of meeting my family to know like what they’re in for.”]
Ingrid will join Dan + Shay on their Arena Tour beginning in March.
