On Today’s Show
January 10, 2020 9:35 amMinnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph shared on Twitter that he’d found out a pair of signed gloves he’d given to the member of the media for charity was instead being sold on eBay.
After Rudolph caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown last Sunday in the Vikings’ wild card win over the New Orleans Saints, a media member he didn’t name asked for his game gloves to auction at a charity benefit, and he agreed and offered to sign them.
But then Rudolph discovered the gloves were being sold on eBay, calling it “disappointing.” However, the fan who won the auction tweeted at Rudolph that he’d donate them to a charity of the player’s choice, and they’re now going to UMN Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.

Finland’s Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, has overhauled the work week there by introducing a four-day work week comprised of six-hour days.
She cites allowing workers to spend more time with family and enjoy their lives, culture and hobbies as the reason for the change. Up until now, the work week in Finland was five days per week and eight-hour work days. Sweden underwent a similar trial in 2015 and found that working only six hours a day increased productivity. In November, Microsoft Japan introduced a three-day weekend for employees and productivity went up by almost 40 per cent.

WEB FIND OF THE DAY…..
Imagine the pressure of taking a half-court shot to win a lot of money, with everyone watching.
27-year-old Evan Brooks was asked before Sunday night’s Lakers game if he’d like to take a half-court shot at halftime for a chance at $100,000. He said yes and he swished it.
Here he is, explaining that his brother was making him nervous before the shot, and that he hopes a famous Laker will give him some attention for the feat.
(He won the money from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He also played division 2 basketball in the past.)

GOOD NEWS
It can be hard for twins to build separate identities from each other, but these two are already off to a GREAT start.
A woman named Dawn Gilliam from Carmel, Indiana was pregnant with twins and went into labor seven weeks early . . . on New Year’s Eve.
And she wound up delivering one of the twins before midnight . . . and one after.
So her daughter Joslyn’s birthday is December 31st, 2019 . . . and her son Jaxon’s birthday is January 1st, 2020. Yep, these twins were born 30 minutes apart, but their birthdays are in different DECADES.
Obviously, twins born in different decades are pretty rare . . . although there’s one feat that’s even rarer.
Twenty years ago, there were some twins who were born in different MILLENNIUMS . . . one in 1999, one in 2000.

CES 2020:
Highlights from the biggest tech trade show of the year, the Consumer Electronics Show, running this week in Las Vegas …
➢ Samsung’s Neon project: Basically video chatbots that behave like humans. The goal is to have the realistic digital humans act in roles such as teachers, health care advisers and assistants. They will continually learn and adapt to become unique companions.
➢ Black Shark 2 Pro gaming phone: It’s ridiculously tricked out. Xiaomi’s new brainchild comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with a CPU clock speed of up to 2.96GHz, a direct touch multilayer liquid cooling system to keep the processor cool, and a 6.39-inch AMOLED Samsung screen with a 60Hz refresh rate.
➢Charmin Rollbot: When you’re, umm, indisposed and realize too late you’re out of toilet paper, Charmin is ready to help. With your phone, you can request that Charmin’s bear-faced toilet roll robot fetch you a roll and bring it to you in the loo.
➢ Impossible Pork: Following up on the success of last year’s Impossible Burger 2.0, Impossible Foods is rolling out plant-based Impossible Pork. The main protein is soy, with sunflower and coconut oils serving as fat sources. Those who have tried it say it does, in fact, taste like pork.
➢ The Wall MicroLED TV: This year’s suitably named TV from Samsung covers 292 inches (over 24 feet), making it the largest TV ever at CES (Last year’s was 219 inches). How much? We don’t know yet, but you can’t afford it. You may have to “settle” for the $100,000 Q900.
➢ Inupathy dog harness: It lets your dog tell you how he’s feeling. The harness can measure your pet’s heart rate and uses that information to let you know if your dog is relaxed, excited, happy, interested or stressed out by changing colors. An app lets you track your pet’s mood.
The harnesses should go on sale sometime later this year. They’re already on sale in Japan for around $50.

A Small Plant on Your Desk Really Does Help with Stress
There are a ton of apps, articles, and new-age ways to deal with stress now. But it’s nice to know a few old tricks still work . . .
If you’re stressed out at your job, a new study found keeping a PLANT on your desk really can help.
For the test subjects their heart rates were lower, and they scored better on anxiety tests.
Apparently just seeing the plant over and over all day made a difference. But watering it and having something to care for also played a part.
The great thing is the plant doesn’t have to take a up a lot of space. The ones in the study were tiny. So even something like a small succulent works.

LITTLE BIG TOWN READY TO TACKLE ‘NIGHTFALL TOUR’
Little Big Town‘s Nightfall Tour kicks off next week with a special show at New York’s Carnegie Hall. This is the first mainstream country performance featured at Carnegie Hall since Alan Jackson in 2013.
The tour will continue with a two-night stand at The Apollo as well as multiple nights in several cities along the way through the spring.
This is not how Little Big Town is used to touring, and it’s one of the things group member Jimi Westbrook is looking most forward to. He tells us: [“I’m really looking forward to spending multiple nights in cities this time. We haven’t really ever done that, and I think it’s going to be great to kind of settle into some cities and maybe get out and eat some great food, the local fare, and really get to kind of experience the city. Where a lot of times you’re just in and out just for a few hours, so I’m excited about that part. I think it’s gonna be fun.”]
The Nightfall Tour will play in over 30 of the most prestigious theaters in the country, closing with two nights at Denver’s The Paramount. Every show, excluding Carnegie Hall, will feature singer-songwriter Caitlyn Smith.
Their new album, also titled Nightfall, will be released on January 17th.
JORDAN DAVIS HIT BORN OF TRUE LOVE STORY
Jordan Davis‘ latest hit, “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot,” is based on real life. It’s not his experience, but rather his co-writer’s story about his first date with his now-wife.
Jordan tells us: [“It’s a true story. That was written with Lonnie Fowler. We didn’t have an idea of what we were going to write that day, and we started talking about first dates. He asked me about my first date, which was not eventful at all, and then I asked him about his first date, and it was him and his wife on their way home, a Garth Brooks song comes on the radio, they pull in a parking lot and he asks her to slow dance. I was like, ‘Dude, if there’s ever a country song, that’s it right there.’”]
“Slow Dance In A Parking Lot” sits in the Top 15 on the charts and is the follow-up to his previous two Number One hits, “Singles You Up” and “Take It From Me.”
Jordan will kick off his 2020 headlining Trouble Town Tour on Friday (January 10th) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with opening acts Kassi Ashton and Hailey Whitters.
DAN + SHAY shared a very sweet video of a boy comforting his down syndrome baby brother by singing “10,000 Hours”, their song with JUSTIN BIEBER. And then yesterday they TWEETED out a clip offering the boy’s family free tickets to their September 17th show in Little Rock, Arkansas.
