The Nose Warmer stays in place by latching the straps around your ears, and there is an array of fabrics available, like fleece and faux fur…and patterns, like animal print and solid colors.
Aapparently, they work, and some people are actually wearing them.

TODAY IS……………….
“Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day”, a day to concentrate on your feline and answer the questions you think it’s asking. People often consider cats unaffectionate, not true companions. But the truth is, they only talk to humans. Studies show they rarely ‘meow’ at other cats.
“Hot Sauce Day”, if you are one of those people who feels that “spicy” is never quite spicy enough, Hot Sauce Day is the perfect holiday for you! Current best-rated hot sauce on Amazon: “Secret Aardvark Habanero Sauce”

2006 LA Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant scores 81 points against the Toronto Raptors.

EXPERT: MOST COFFEE MAKERS ARE CRAWLING WITH GERMS AND GROWING MOLD
Hate to break it to you, but your coffee maker at home is likely crawling with bacteria and mold.
Lisa Yakas is the senior product manager of Consumer Products at NSF International, and says all types of coffee makers are relatively harmless as long as clients follow the manufacturer’s cleaning directions.
She says the water reservoir of your coffee maker is one of the dirtiest parts of your kitchen if it’s not cleaned on a regular basis, and a study found 50 percent of the sampled reservoirs in coffee makers had mold or yeast. Yakas says you should always empty out the unused water in the reservoir and leave the lid off to let it dry out.
Another places that can be germy is the top of the machine where people place the plastic pod, and coffee cups can get really gross as well, especially if they’re shared among co-workers.
The good news is the heat from a coffee maker can kill most germs, but that doesn’t get you out of cleaning it carefully. The manufacturer of your coffee pot will have instructions as to how to clean it properly.

GOOD NEWS
At any given time, thousands of people are waiting for a liver transplant. But this could help with that backlog in a major way . . .
A team of engineers in Switzerland just unveiled a new machine they built that can keep a donated liver alive outside the body for up to a WEEK.
Until now, livers could only survive up to 12 hours. So it means we might be able to do a lot more transplants.
It works by mimicking things like circulation, blood filtering, and body temperature. And it pumps oxygen-rich blood through the liver while filtering it with a dialysis machine.
This part could be groundbreaking too: Apparently it can also take livers that are already too old for transplant and help revive them.
They tried it with 10 livers that were deemed too old for transplant. And after a week in the machine, six of them were fully functional again.

Do These Things Count as Stealing or Not?
Is there any gray area when it comes to stealing? A bunch of people took an online poll on what counts as stealing and what doesn’t. See if you agree . . .
- A cashier fails to scan an item, and you don’t mention it. 63% said yes, it’s stealing. Also, if you fail to mention they gave you too much change, 76% think that’s stealing.
- You scan an onion instead of an avocado at self-checkout to save 50 cents. 73% said it’s stealing.
- You tell a friend they left something at your place, but they never pick it up. So a few months later, you start using it. 78% said no, that’s not stealing.
- You tell a joke that your friends assume you came up with. But you actually read it online and don’t correct them. 63% said no, that’s NOT stealing.
- You accidentally take someone else’s coat when you leave a restaurant, and it’s nicer than yours, so you keep it. 93% agree that’s stealing. 7% think it’s NOT.
- You return something you bought on sale, and the store refunds you the full price instead of the sale price. 55% said no, it’s not stealing.
- An online purchase gets “lost” in the mail. Then it arrives weeks later after you already got a refund, so you keep it. 54% said yes, it’s stealing.
- You take a bunch of extra sugar packets from a coffee shop to use later at home. 83% think it’s totally fine and shouldn’t count as stealing.

MANY SLEEP MORE IN WINTER
If you’ve noticed yourself sleeping more since winter began, you’re not alone.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine says 34 percent of people report sleeping more in winter, compared to ten percent that say they sleep less during this time of year.
In the summer those numbers are reversed, with 36 percent saying they sleep less and nine percent saying they sleep more.
Dr. Kelly Carden says, “The shorter days during the winter create a great, natural opportunity to spend more time sleeping. Getting quality sleep of adequate duration can improve physical and mental health, overall performance and mitigate safety risks.”

Valentines Sweethearts Candies Are Making a Comeback This Year
Sweethearts, the pastel candy hearts with romantic messages that have become synonymous with Valentine’s Day, are back after a year-long hiatus but die-hard fans will note a few significant changes.
The beloved candy was absent last year after it changed ownership to Spangler Candy. Despite the new factory, however, Spangler is still facing its fair share of challenges. It’s doubtful that Spangler will be able to meet the consumer demands for 2020.
Those won’t be the only changes for the candies either; the printer that gave Sweethearts their trademark romantic quips weren’t working consistently and the new printer they acquired was damaged which means that this year’s crop of hearts will have decidedly less to say than usual.
The candy may also taste a little different too, but this change is less about necessity and more about nostalgia.
Spangler found the original recipe for Sweethearts in old paperwork; while Necco had modified the formula and flavors over the course of Sweethearts 118-year history, Spangler is excited to bring back the OG flavors, including banana and wintergreen.

- About 25% of Americans now devote NONE of their spare time to physical activity. According to a new report from the CDC, Mississippi is the laziest state, and Colorado is the most active.
Here’s Jim Gaffigan’s classic bit on how lazy we’ve all become.
- A new study looked into the fastest way to board an airplane. And it found that letting slow people board first really does work best. Meaning older people and parents traveling with kids. It reminded us of an old skit from “Key & Peele” where a guy thinks his section is about to board, but it’s not.

SAM HUNT SAYS TRADITIONAL COUNTRY ALBUM IS IN HIS FUTURE
While his music to date might not reflect it, Sam Hunt loves traditional country music and would even like to venture down that road sometime in the future. There are some aspects of his upcoming sophomore album where Sam tells us he borrowed a page from that influence. [“There’s a simplicity in some of the production which I’m actually still working out but I think there will be a simplicity in the approach musically. If it were up to me I might just put out acoustic guitar and vocals on every song but I know I can’t really do that so if think if anything the sparseness of the production on this record might reflect some of that influence, but, no, I’d still like to in the future kind of dive into that a little more and even make a record that might be in that direction but I feel like that’s probably down the road.”]
Sam has announced that he will tour in 2020.
THOMAS RHETT’S GRAMMY NOD IS ‘RIDICULOUS’
Thomas Rhett‘s latest album, Center Point Road, has landed the singer a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album heading into Sunday’s (Jan. 26th) Grammy Awards. The nod is overwhelming to Thomas. He told ABC Audio, [“It’s just wild. When you get nominated for an album, a full project, it really does mean the world, because a record just takes so much work to complete (from) the writers and the producers and the background singers and everybody. So, to be recognized by the Grammys for that is like . . . it’s ridiculous.”]
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles on CBS.
FAST FACTS
Thomas and his wife, Lauren, are expecting their third daughter on Feb. 3rd.
LUKE COMBS TO PERFORM ON ‘SNL’
Luke Combs will make his debut as the musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live next Saturday, Feb. 1st. He’ll join the night’s host, NFL star J.J. Watt.
Luke is set to headline his first ever stadium show at Appalachian State University’s Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone, NC on May 2nd. The already sold-out stadium show is part of Luke’s headlining What You See Is What You Get Tour, which kicks off next month with special guests Ashley McBryde and Drew Parker.
