Someone asked people online to send valentines to a 104-year-old World War Two vet in California named Bill White. And he’s already gotten over 70,000 letters.
His daughter has been helping him go through them, and they did an interview about it the other day.

GOOD NEWS
Thanks to a helpful device a Calgary family can now all hit the ice. Piper Jackson has cerebral palsy and loves to watch her big sister Brynn from the sidelines, but recently, the sisters skated side by side for the first time ever.
The Calgary HEROS (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society) received a “K-Trainer” with the support of Jumpstart, Canadian Tire’s charity for children.
The device is an apparatus of metal bars, straps, and an adjustable harness that helps children remain upright.
Leaders with the hockey team say it is the first of its kind to be brought to Canada.
“It’s amazing,” said Piper’s mother, Emily Jackson. “It’s a wonderful organization and it’s just an amazing opportunity that I never imagined Piper would have.
HEROS will add the K-trainer device to their teams in Edmonton and Regina with goals to expand the sport to children with physical challenges.

WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?
Man Called Out for Wanting to Propose with Engagement Ring Customized for Ex-
A concerned woman took to Reddit seeking advice after she learned her boyfriend was planning to propose to her with an engagement ring he had custom made for his ex-girlfriend.
The woman explained her boyfriend asked her if she would be OK with the second-hand ring
“He and his ex were together for about 4 years and he had planned to propose to her, however the proposal did not happen because the girl had broken his heart again and again and he finally had enough.
I’m not sure what the actual value of the ring was, but according to him he spent few thousand dollars on the ring in total.
Though the woman claimed she could “see the practicality of it,” she confessed “something in my heart just can’t get over the fact that the ring was originally made for someone else in mind.” Am I being unreasonable? I don’t need an expensive ring, and I don’t need diamonds, but I’d like the ring to be bought with me in mind,” she wrote.

Woman Gets Stranded in the Snow and Uses Tinder to Find Help
Well here’s a clever way to use your sex appeal: Lonia Haeger is a professional kite surfer from Germany. And she was driving through Norway recently with friends in an RV when they got stuck.
They were in the middle of nowhere. And the roads were so icy, they were worried they’d slide down a big hill if they tried to move in either direction.
A tow truck wouldn’t be able to get there for a while though. And they were worried another car might slide on the road and hit them.
So they got creative, and asked for help on TINDER.
They made a new profile using pictures of Lonia. And a guy who was nearby got in touch FIVE MINUTES later.
Apparently he was really close. Because it only took him another five minutes to get there. And he showed up in a huge front-end loader to clear a path in the ice.
He got them to a safe spot to park, then came back the next day to put chains on their tires.
It’s not clear if he got a date out of it or not.

Most people look forward to five o’clock on Mondays. But according to this, the ACTUAL best part of your workday will happen about 90 minutes before that.

Obviously, we’re happier when we’re NOT at work though. Here are the ten happiest moments of the day overall . . .
- Waking up after a great night’s sleep.
- Eating a great dinner.
- The moment you sit down in front of the TV at night.
- Your boss showing you some appreciation.
- Getting home after work.
- Getting a complement from someone.
- Getting a hug from your child.
- Having a late-night snack.
- The moment you take off your work clothes.
- The moment you take your shoes off after work. Some of our worst moments of the day including being stuck in traffic, spilling food, and realizing you slept through your alarm.

TEXTING AND WALKING
Don’t walk and text. That’s the message after researchers found that using your phone to text as you walk is more likely to cause an accident than taking a call or listening to music. Texting was associated with a higher rate of near misses and a failure to look both ways when crossing the road, in the study done by researchers at the University of Calgary. Talking on the phone caused only a small increase in time taken to cross a road safely, and listening to music had no notable impact on pedestrian safety.

BRETT YOUNG TALKS VALENTINE’S DAY ROMANCE
Brett Young is well aware that Valentine’s Day is this Friday (Feb. 14th), but when it comes to being romantic, he tells us he’s probably a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. He explains: [“I probably fall somewhere in between. I think romance and surprises are important, so I’ll come up with something. I think we’re doing this Valentine’s Day in L.A., which we’ve done before, obviously. And so I’ll probably try to find out some new restaurant that she’s heard about online that she really wants to see, and put us up in a different hotel that’s kind of nice, and kind of pamper ourselves a little. But it just depends. It depends on the situation.”]
FAST FACTS
Brett will join Jason Aldean on the summer leg of his We Back Tour.
RILEY GREEN IS A HOLIDAY ‘PROCRASTINATOR’
Riley Green might be the hottest new bachelor on the country music scene lately, but he freely admits he has one flaw. Riley tells us that when it comes to holidays, including romantic ones like Valentine’s Day, he’s kind of a last minute guy. [“I’m definitely a procrastinator when it comes to any holidays. A lot of my Christmas gifts get wrapped in newspaper. And I don’t know that I’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day with a girl but I would imagine that if I did it would go a lot like that. It would be a last minute type of flower from the grocery store type situation.”]
Riley is on the We Back Tour with Jason Aldean. They play this Valentine’s Day (Friday, Feb. 14th) in Springfield, MO.
JIMMIE ALLEN SAYS VALENTINE’S DAY COMES WITH ‘A BUNCH OF UNNECESSARY PRESSURE’
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day (Friday, Feb. 14th), but it shouldn’t really matter because if you’re with someone you love, everyday should be Valentine’s Day. Right? So says Jimmie Allen. In fact, not only does he think the holiday is useless, he tells us exclusively that it’s very one-sided. [“I feel like it’s a bunch of unnecessary pressure for men because it’s supposed to be a day where you celebrate the person you love, men and women, but yet a lot of times the pressure falls on men where men have to buy the flowers and men have to make the reservations, men have to do this, and if we don’t we’re a horrible person, but I’m like, ‘Wait a minute. What do men get for Valentine’s Day?’ I feel like if it’s supposed to be about the person you love both people should be doing something to make the other person . . . but also, there’s 365 days in the year. If you really love someone you’re not waiting for one day.”]
Jimmie will spend Valentine’s Day in Columbus, OH where he’s set to perform at Tequila Cowboy.
He is closing in on the top of the charts with “Make Me Want To,” the followup to his chart-topping debut hit, “Best Shot.”
FAST FACTS
Jimmie will head overseas to play a string of dates beginning in March.
Also in March, he and his fiancee, Alexis Gale, are expecting a baby girl they plan to name Naomie.
Jimmie already has one son, five-year-old Aadyn, from a previous relationship.
