If you’re going to make your own hand sanitizers don’t give it to other people. A convenience store owner in New Jersey is now facing charges after creating and selling a spray sanitizer that left four children with burns. She was charged with endangering the welfare of children and deceptive business practices. Authorities say she mixed commercially available foaming sanitizer, which wasn’t meant for resale, with water and packaged the bottles in her store.

GOOD NEWS
Two cops near Atlanta recently saw a woman walking home in the cold, and went above and beyond to help her out. It happened in January, but the video was just posted . . .
Sergeant Nick Boney stopped to see if she needed a ride, and she immediately said yes. She was holding a bunch of balloons, because she was out getting supplies for her one-year-old daughter’s first birthday party. So without hesitating, Nick handed his credit card to another officer . . . and asked him to go buy a CAKE.
They surprised the woman with it, and she invited them to her house to meet her kids and have cake with them.
The whole thing was captured on Nick’s body-cam. But he never even tried to get any credit for it. The police department was doing random audits of body-cam footage when his supervisor saw it and posted it online.

PROFITEERING OFF COVID 19
Brothers Matt and Noah Calvin admit in an interview that they bought up all of the hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes that they could find across Tennessee and Kentucky after the first U.S. coronavirus death was reported on March 1, with the intent to resell them at a profit as public panic around COVID-19 kicked in. They began listing their items on Amazon at a at a “substantial” markup.
They also sold 2,000 50-packs of face masks on eBay for $40 to $50, sometimes higher.
But Amazon pulled his items and thousands of other listings for hand sanitizers, face masks and wipes, to combat price gouging. EBay followed suit soon afterward. So now they have a garage filled with 17,700 bottles of sanitizer.
He reportedly said he doesn’t want to become infamous for hoarding. “If I can make a slight profit, that’s fine,” and defended his actions as solving “inefficiencies in the marketplace,” in that hawking these products for profit online potentially sends them to areas of the country where it’s harder to get them.
They’re not the only ones, an Ohio truck driver named Eric, who did not provide his last name, reportedly told the paper that he had snapped up about 10,000 face masks at retail stores. He paid about $20 for each 10-pack, and estimates that he made $35,000 to $40,000 in profit.
And a couple in Vancouver says that they’ve made more than $100,000 reselling Lysol wipes.

SLEEPING ALARM:
Admit it. You love to stay up late on weekends, and then “catch up” by sleeping in the next morning.
Bad plan, according to a new study. Research out of Harvard found that changing your regular sleep-wake time by 90 minutes — in either direction — significantly increases your chance of having a heart attack or heart disease.
For the study, a regular sleep time was defined as less than 30 minutes difference, on average, over seven nights. And the study found that if you (pardon the pun) regularly have an irregular sleep time, over a five-year period, your risk of cardiovascular disease is more than doubled.
To encourage more regular sleep patterns, experts suggest scheduling exercise, cooler bedroom temperatures, and a regular nighttime routine to signal to your body and brain that it is time to wind down.

Coronavirus
- Now that things have started to calm down in China, DIVORCE RATES are spiking. Apparently more than a few couples spent way too long being quarantined together.
- Because of the toilet paper “shortage,” sales of BIDETS are through the roof.
- A coronavirus patient in Kentucky is now under 24/7 armed guard after he refused to self quarantine.
In a disturbing scene, thousands and thousands of people got stuck shoulder-to-shoulder trying to get through customs to get back into the U.S. at airports this weekend. And a study found there could be SIX seriously ill coronavirus patients for every one hospital bed in the U.S.
- Police in Oregon had to ask people to stop calling 911 when they run out of toilet paper, because it doesn’t qualify as life-or-death.
- A pizza place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin added rolls of toilet paper to its menu, so customers can add it on when they order food.
A lot of the news we’ve seen this past week has been pretty dire. But there are a ton of INSPIRING stories out there too. Here’s a quick round-up of ten good news stories we’ve seen about the outbreak . . .
- Videos of people in Italy SINGING together from their balconies went viral this weekend. The best one is from Siena, Italy, where they sang a popular song about how proud they are of their hometown.
- All across Spain, people went to their windows to give healthcare workers a huge round of applause
- A video of doctors and nurses in Wuhan smiling and removing their masks has been making the rounds on social media. China closed the last of its emergency hospitals last week after spread of the virus there finally leveled off.
- For the first time, South Korea had more recoveries in one day than new cases.
- After Disneyland shut down, they donated all their extra food to a food bank in Orange County, California.

The coach came out on the ice and spat in the ref’s face, who then pushed the coach to the ground. The coach got up and started throwing punches. His words got him ejected, but his follow-up actions got him fired. Here’s Eugene Binda, the local referee coordinator and the referee’s nephew talking about it.
