Toilet paper is a hot commodity and a mother in England, like many other people, was stockpiling toilet paper, and had 18 rolls of it in her home. But her attempt at being prepared was thwarted by her kids, who threw all of the rolls into the bath. A man named Ed Cumming posted about the incident on Twitter, writing “My friend bought 18 loo rolls and her kids put them all in the bath” along with a photo of the resulting mess. The tweet quickly went viral.

ENTERTAINMENT

Unfortunately, you can’t get together with your friends and binge-watch “The Office” right now.  But you can still watch it together, while you’re apart.

Netflix has a new browser extension called Netflix Party, and it allows people all over the world to sync up their streams so they can watch stuff together and talk about it in a sidebar chat.

It’s free, but it’s only for the Google Chrome browser.  You can get it at Netflix party.com

  • “Let’s Laugh Day”, laughter decreases stress hormones and increases antibodies, boosting your immunity to all sorts of illness and disease. Laughing also helps relax your muscles and helps you de-stress.

COVID QUICK HITS

On Saturday night, a man in a hazmat suit ran into a Walmart in Las Vegas and started spraying stuff with an unknown liquid.  The Walmart was evacuated and fortunately, no one who came in contact with the substance he sprayed is showing any symptoms.  A spokesman for the local police said they managed to track him down and arrest him.

Spring breakers just refuse to stop going out and partying.  One guy in Florida told a reporter, quote, “If I get corona, I get corona.  At the end of the day, I’m not going to let it stop me from partying.”

The New York Stock Exchange will close its trading floor and go fully electronic as of Monday after two people tested positive for coronavirus.

Hope of the day:  A renowned French researcher has reported successful results from a new treatment . . . that might be able to stop the virus from being contagious in six days.  And Oxford University scientists have developed a rapid testing kit.

An IKEA store in Sweden found 50,000 face masks in one of their warehouses and donated them all to a nearby hospital.

And if you need help homeschooling your kids, Scholastic.com is now offering free online courses.  And Google’s “Arts & Culture” page has 2500 museums you can explore online.

A surfer-bro near San Diego has been standing at an intersection with a sign encouraging people to share their toilet paper.  Once people started to give him rolls, he handed them out to other people in need.

ONE BIG TOOTH:
A 20-year-old in India has had what is believed to be the world’s longest tooth extracted.

Pawan Bhavsar had been suffering from jaw ache, gum swelling, and blisters in his mouth, so he paid a visit to a dentist.

After an examination, the dentist decided to extract two of Bhavsar’s teeth. Nothing seemed particularly out of the ordinary until Dr Srivastava pulled out one of the teeth. At roughly 3.89 centimeters (1.53 inches), the tooth is believed to have set a new Guinness World Record for the world’s largest tooth.

The current record is 3.72 centimeters (1.46 inches). For comparison, the average length of a human’s front teeth is about 2.25 centimeters (0.89 inches), around 1.63 centimeters (0.64 inches) less than Bhavsar’s tooth.

THERE’S A MASSIVE SPIKE IN ONLINE GAMING DUE TO PEOPLE SELF-ISOLATING AT HOME

The novel coronavirus has many people self-isolating at home, and they’re looking for stuff to do.

As a result, online gaming platform Steam says it has a record number of people using their services. Over the weekend they had 20 million gamers from all over the world connected at the same time—a record number.

The highest single peak for players came on Sunday afternoon (March 15th) when over 20.3 million players all connected at the same time, and of that group nearly 6.4 million of them were actively playing a game. These are the biggest peaks the platform has reached on days that did not coincide with any major gaming release. It’s chalked up to countries going into lockdown and people being stuck in self-isolation due to the novel coronavirus.

  1. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Adorable Mini Pony and Donkey Want You To #StayTheFHome

Screen legend and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is urging Americans to #StayTheFHome to curb the spread of the coronavirus, and he’s recruited two of his adorable pets to help get the message across: miniature pony Whiskey and Lulu the donkey. “We have a good time eating here together,” Schwarzenegger said as he fed them carrots. “So much more fun than going outside. No more restaurants, OK? Public gatherings, restaurants, all those gymnasiums, out the window. We stay home.

Get ready for our new feature, Late Night Hosts from Home.  During the on-air hiatus, most of them are featuring NEW material like mini-monologues, interviews, and bits on their YouTube channels.  Here are Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel . . . telling jokes from their houses.  (Yes, those are Fallon’s two daughters giggling in the background.)

Today Is the First Day of Spring . . . It’s the Earliest Spring in 124 Years

Spring is here!  Let’s all look at it from our windows.

Today is the vernal equinox, which marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of fall in the Southern Hemisphere. And this is actually the earliest spring in 124 years.  NOT because of anything any groundhog predicted, though.  It all has to do with Leap Days and Daylight Saving Time.

That brings us to now, and the equinox is today at 11:49 P.M. Eastern time.  That’s the earliest it’s been since all these random factors collided back in 1896, when the vernal equinox was at 9:29 P.M. Eastern on March 19th.

Brett Young has quarantined himself in his tour bus parked in his driveway in Nashville after recently returning from Europe. He decided to take the drastic measure as a precaution to make sure he does not have the coronavirus and infect either his wife or his four-month-old daughter.

He says that his bags are still sitting unpacked in his garage and he will remain in quarantine for two weeks or until he can get tested.

Upcoming dates on Brett’s Chapters Tour have been postponed.

Blake Shelton Is Promising to Bring His Mullet Back, For Real

I think BLAKE SHELTON knows we all need some comic relief right about now, so even if he backs out on this promise, this is still fun to think about.  And what IS that promise?

He gave it to us yesterday in this TWEET, “I have an announcement.  With basically everything I had scheduled being canceled for the foreseeable further, Gwen Stefani and I have made a decision together.

“I am growing my mullet back as a symbol of hope or some [crap] like that.  Anyway, it’s coming back.  For real.  Stay tuned.”
