➢ A storage locker treasure hunter hit the jackpot by finding an abandoned unit in LA packed with Kobe Bryant treasures … and now one of the stars of “Storage Wars” is involved. Just like on the show, storage units are auctioned off if the owner stops paying the bills, and bidders only got a brief glimpse as to what was inside before the auction began. The person who scored the unit won with a bid of $375. What was inside? 35 pairs of Bryant’s shoes, jerseys, Lakers practice gear, his Lakers all-access badge, tax paperwork, and the pièce de résistance … a mink coat. The buyer immediately called “Storage Wars” star Rene Nezhoda, who bought the entire contents for a cool $13,000.
➢ A six-year-old girl in St. Louis named Paris Williams was inspired by a children’s book called “One Boy’s Magic”, and wanted to do something nice for people. GOOD NEWS
Two first grade teachers at a school in Florida decided to create some “mini jeeps” to make her students feel more at ease with social distancing and bubbles.
The desks feature a three-sided plastic shield and a colorful, laminated car design
The two first-grade teachers share curriculum and learning plans, and this year, their classrooms will both feature the playful desks.
The idea came about when a colleague showed her a similar design from a school in Texas.
The school supplied the plexiglass tri folds and the teachers paid for the decorations out of pocket. They estimate that the desks took about seven days to complete. With the help of friends and family, each of the students will find their own Jeep waiting for them when they get to school Wednesday.
On the first day of class, the students will design their own license plate for their Jeeps.
“We were just trying our best to make the room look more kid-appropriate and not so scary,”
Mark Allen, the head of Jeep exterior design, said he was impressed by the teachers’ imagination and ingenuity. “As the ‘head crayon and master doodler for Jeep’ this makes my heart truly smile, what a fun and unique way to welcome back students and ease them into a new way of learning. Hats off to the teacher whose creativity is sure to inspire these young minds.”

LAST NAMES AND OLD-FASHIONED NAMES ARE RISING IN POPULARITY AS MIDDLE NAMES Picking a child’s first name comes with a lot of pressure, but there’s generally less of that pressure with middle names.
A new trend sees parents giving their boys last names and old-fashioned names for middle names. Nmes such as Archie, Ace, August, Clyde, Gus, Hank, Hugh, Jude, Louis, Sonny, And Theo have risen in popularity as middle names for boys.
The same can be said about the last names Beckham, Cooper, Ellis, Emerson, Fletcher, Harrison, Hendrix, Houston, Hudson, Lennon, Monroe, Nixon, Parker, Warren, and Watson—which have also seen an uptick in popularity for use as middle names for boys.

THE BOX OFFICE THIS WEEKEND
The Box Office has been DEAD for 24 weeks thanks to the pandemic . . . but it began opening up this weekend, for the first time since everything shut down in mid-March.
Of course, the industry is still a ways away from pre-pandemic, when the Top 10 was collectively averaging more than $100 million each weekend. This weekend, the Top 10 grossed under $6.5 million.
The RUSSELL CROWE thriller “Unhinged” was the “winner,” debuting in more than 1,800 theaters and grossing about $4 million in the U.S.
It cruised to the win with virtually no competition, but it’s still in the red. It wasn’t supposed to be a blockbuster, but it cost around $33 million to make, so it still has some ground to cover.
“Unhinged” is currently on general release in many markets.
If you’re planning to see it, please observe the various safety protocols.
Next weekend, Disney is launching its “X-Men” spinoff “New Mutants”, and the week after that, the thriller “Tenet” will be out.
MADDIE & TAE’S ‘BROKEN HEART’ BREAKS THROUGH TO NUMBER ONE
Maddie & Tae are sitting at Number One on both the Country Aircheck and Billboard country charts this week with “Die From a Broken Heart.” Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye co-wrote the song, along with Jonathan Singleton and Deric Ruttan, just two weeks after Tae suffered a heartbreak.
Maddie tells us that this true account of lost love really connected with fans. [“The reaction to ‘Die From A Broken Heart’ was completely unexpected. We didn’t even realize that song was gonna have the life that it is having. I can’t even tell you how much it excites me to hear our fans relate to this because it’s so our story and so real and true to what we’ve been through.”]
FAST FACTS
“Die From A Broken Heart” is featured on Maddie & Tae’s sophomore album, The Way It Feels.
The pair scored their first No. 1 in 2014 with “Girl in a Country Song,” making “Die From a Broken Heart” only their second chart-topper.

KANE BROWN PLANS ON RACKING UP MORE HITS BEFORE TOURING AGAIN
Kane Brown is hoping to chart a couple more hits from his new EP, Mixtape Vol. 1, before returning to the road. He tells us that while he misses getting to perform these songs live for fans, it will be all that much more exciting if he and other artists can add chart-toppers to their set lists in the meantime.
Kane tells us: [“I guess the anticipation’s pretty high because we can’t tour or anything so I’m wanting to get more music out cause I don’t know if anybody’s looked at it like this but most artists are kind of racking up Number Ones before we go back out on tour, so there’s like a lot of Number Ones that people haven’t gotten to hear live yet in concert or anything so I might be able to score in some more before we go back on tour and just have basically a whole new show for the crowd. I know the music will be different but at least everybody’ll know the songs.”]
Kane sits inside the Top 10 and climbing with his latest hit, “Cool Again.”
Mixtape Vol. 1 features seven songs, including collaborations with John Legend and Swae Lee and Khalid. The video for “Be Like That” with Swae Lee and Khalid was released last night.
